At the 2025 convention, R&R wrote a resolution which included the position we should run at least 4 congressional candidates. Lots of people said this was unrealistic. Sad to say, they were right. Today we’re not running four: we’re electing 5.
DSA national and 129 chapters have endorsed 301 unique races in 2026.

With Bread & Roses’s caucus vote, DSA’s endorsement of AOC is now almost inevitable. Unfortunately, the NPC has deprived Convention of having the final say on this vital question. However, Reform & Revolution believes it is good we stand to join the mass campaign in 2028. 🧵
However, both B&R and Groundwork’s position is that they are committed to defending DSA’s principles, and with a strong lead from the left, we can pass a campaign plan that does just that.
The Black Panther Party took a disciplined and public-facing approach to how they used their ten-point program. If we want a Y/DSA inspired by the lessons of the BPP, then we must commit ourselves to systematic and widespread member understanding and usage of DSA’s program. 🧵
The party grew because they took public-facing political action that put them in direct conflict with their oppressors and used that opening to speak to the public about their organization’s program for their community’s liberation. 🧵
To go beyond being just a “club on campus” and build the youth wing of a future mass socialist party, DSA and YDSA can learn from the BPP’s lessons by using our program, WDM, as a centerpiece of our campaigns and public-facing political work.
