A couple of days ago, I said the quiet part out loud. I'm a content creator turned business owner. From day one, I've been told I have to pick one. Creator or executive. Not both. Over time I noticed something. The people telling me that were almost always only one or the other. I've also heard that esports and gaming need to be run like traditional sports teams, usually from people who have never come from this industry. That's the real problem. Traditional business playbooks work in traditional business. Gaming is its own culture, its own community, and its own economy, and you can't lead it well if you've never been part of it. Look at who's winning in this space right now. More and more creators are becoming successful business owners. They don't win because they mastered spreadsheets. They win because they're gamers. They understand the audience, the culture, and the landscape from the inside. So why can't someone be both? Gamers understand our industry. The ones who truly know what's best for gaming are the ones who live it. I'm a creator, and a business owner.
