Finn Haggerty with the game-winning shootout goal to help make the @HockeyNewton Peewee AAA team 3-2 shootout winners over Wellesley in a thrilling @VHLHockey championship game. Congrats to Finn and his teammates on an amazing championship run & an unforgettable season 🚨🏒🏆
Totally agree. Didn't have an issue with this one after Vlasic jumped Mittelstadt when he clearly wasn't interested in fighting. Clearly the NHL didn't have a big issue either with the $5K slap on the wrist
Elias Lindholm with the OT game-winner on a power rush to the net after a number of game-saving stops by Mikey DiPietro in overtime. Gutsy OT 5-4 win for the Bruins on a day when they did not have their best.
Morgan Geekie finally breaks through. Hammered a one-timer off a Charlie Mcavoy pass witht he goalie pulled in the closing seconds of the third period. Second goal of the season in a huge spot. The B's battled and clawed for that point today. Now on to overtime
Great play by Mason Lohrei to get the puck deep into the zone and then re-attack as a fourth forward where he buries a JJ Peterka feed. Bruins trail 4-3
Bruins gambling to try and get the tying score and it backfires after a bad bounce and a really nice sauce lead pass to Conor Bedard. Hampus Lindholm was in the frame defensively. Other D was nowhere to be found
Bruins trailing 3-2. In danger of a really bad loss to make it 3 in a row if they don't pull it together in the final 9 minutes of the third period
Tanner Jeannot gets a diving penalty as he was trying to draw an interference call on Connor Bedard. It'll be matching penalties there
David pastrnak draws a holding penalty on Vlasic. Pastrnak has been good today. Bruins get a third period PP in a 2-2 game
Not ideal from Zadorov here. Double minor and a 10-minute misconduct. The same double minor penalties for Vlasic, though, for trying to start a fight with a guy in Mittelstadt that clearly wasn’t interested
Alex Vlasic and Casey Mittelstadt get into it behind the play. Mittelstadt doesn't take his gloves off. Zadorov gets a misconduct for throwing punches at Vlasic after the fact. Solid gathering of the clans but it ends with 5-on-5 play
Hagens to Mittelstadt and he buries it glove side. Another big goal from Casey Mittelstadt opting to shoot the puck from the high slot. Amazing what happens when you shoot the puck in a shooter's area. 2-2 game. B's needed somebody to step up and make a play. Mittelstadt steps up
Bruins gettng outshot 23-9 halfway through this game by the Chicago Blackhawks. Just hanging by a thread right now
DiPietro with the glove save robbery on Patrick Kane after Mason Lohrei loses a puck battle along the end boards. Big time save
Kastelic hits a post at one end and the Blackhawks get a good bounce on a Tyler Bertuzzi shot from the circle at the other end and it's 2-1 Blackhawks. Frondell has both goals for Chicago today
Another post for Morgan Geekie with an absolute bomb from the high point on the PP. Bruins will still have PP time to start the second period with fresh ice. 1-1 game
Holy Schnikes
Breaking: Nikita Kucherov has requested a trade from the Tampa Bay Lightning, sources tell @emilymkaplan.
Marco Sturm looking annoyed on @NESN postgame after tonight's stink bomb in St. Louis: “It was definitely unacceptable tonight, especially in the first 40 minutes. We got outworked in every area of the game from top to bottom.”
