Over the course of the last year I've been converting some of my homebrew tabletop stories and campaigns into narrative form following the LitRPG genre model.
It's been immensely helpful for me when it comes to teasing out story beats and characters for my players.
I went ahead and decided to toss one of those narratives up on Royal Road for anyone to read, enjoy, and even borrow concepts for their own campaigns.
I don't actually expect a lot, but wanted to throw it out there for anyone who finds these stories good for passing time with bite-sized chapters (1500-2500 words usually) in a space that makes them easy to digest.
This particular story follows a father who's severely underleveled and skilled in alchemy who is forced to find a way through a Labyrinth with his daughter in tow.
It's about fatherhood, learning from your children, being inspired by your spouse, and embracing a man's call to lay his strength down in service of the people he loves.
It's called The Fate of Fia, and you're welcome to read it here:
