#StoriesOf2025 Inclusion is fundamental to delivering food security across the drylands region. From Egypt to Pakistan, Ethiopia, Tunisia and beyond, ICARDA is working to ensure that women, young people, and marginalized groups have equal access to land, finance, training, and technology. When everyone has the opportunity to participate, dryland food systems become more productive, more resilient, and more equitable. 🌱 Read our 2025 Annual Report and discover the stories behind this work. 👉 annual-report.icarda.org/202…

🐝 How can farmers support pollinators beyond honeybees? In Morocco’s El Haouz region, 40 farmers joined ICARDA and UMONS for hands-on training on wild bees, bumblebees and hoverflies, exploring nesting habitats, flowering strips and pesticide practices that protect pollinators. 🌼🌱 Supported by Food Frontiers and Security – @CGIAR and ARES.

Making conservation agriculture work for farmers requires machinery that meets their needs. At ICARDA’s Marchouch Experimental Station in Morocco, farmers and partners TOLIMAR, INRA Maroc, ONCA and Tourba assessed a locally manufactured no-till seeder and identified improvements to support wider adoption of conservation agriculture and Morocco’s 1M ha target by 2030.

Safeguarding crop diversity for future generations! ICRISAT’s Genebank has deposited 1,868 accessions (800 sorghum and 1,068 pearl millet) at the @ICARDA Genebank in Rabat, Morocco, strengthening the long-term conservation of valuable crop genetic resources. With this deposit, ICRISAT has achieved 93% first-level safety duplication of its collection, ensuring greater security for these vital genetic resources and keeping them available for future research, crop improvement and climate-resilient agriculture. @CGIAR @CropTrust

⭐ Here’s One Story from 2025 We Love: Mixing Things Up to Turn Deserts into Farmland To most eyes, hot, dry deserts with degraded soils are unlikely places for agriculture. But in 2025, ICARDA showed what’s possible when different approaches work together. 🌱 Our integrated desert farming approach combines agroforestry, resilient crops and livestock with regenerative soil management, precision water use, greenhouses and agrivoltaics , making better use of water, nutrients and organic matter along the way. 💧☀️ 📖 Read the full story in ICARDA’s 2025 Annual Report: annual-report.icarda.org/202… #Storiesof2025
