"Enjoy your retirement" is terrible advice for people who built things. Experience does not expire. Grit, judgment and 40 years of knowledge don't belong on a shelf. I'm building REBEL Unretired for people who want a next chapter, not a slow fade. Who's in?

Her grandmother was taken from her family at eight. Today, her granddaughter is the first Native American woman elected governor in US history. In the early 20th century, an eight-year-old Native American girl named Helen was taken from her village in New Mexico by a Catholic priest. She was put on a train and sent to St. Catherine's Indian School in Santa Fe, more than 100 miles from home. For five years, she lived away from her family. Her father once travelled three days by horse and wagon to visit her. Helen's granddaughter is Deb Haaland. On November 3, 2026, Haaland was elected governor of New Mexico, becoming the first Native American woman ever elected governor of a US state. But her journey to this moment was anything but straightforward. A member of the Laguna Pueblo, Haaland raised her daughter as a single mother. She experienced homelessness, relied on food stamps and made money selling homemade salsa. She earned her law degree at 45. In 2018, she became one of the first two Native American women elected to Congress. In 2021, she became the first Native American to serve as a US Cabinet secretary, taking charge of the Department of the Interior. The historical irony was extraordinary. She now headed the very department responsible for overseeing much of the federal government's disastrous policies toward Indigenous peoples. Rather than sweeping that history under the carpet, Haaland ordered an investigation into America's Indian boarding schools. The investigation identified 417 schools and documented the deaths of at least 973 Indigenous children. The real number was almost certainly higher. She also travelled to Indigenous communities to listen to survivors describe what had happened to them. And now, at 65, she has won another election and broken another barrier. The institutions that once tried to destroy Indigenous cultures had failed to destroy them. At her election victory celebration, Haaland spoke about the road near her grandmother's childhood home. "And just off this road, my grandmother was taken away to boarding school. Yet we are still here."

Told the woman who couldn't afford my retreat today. She said she can make it if a place is available for her. So now it's on me... £525 covers her room and food, I waive my fee. Yesterday I cold messaged an organisation I've never met to ask. Took me a week to press send.

I'm 69 and I want retired people at my next retreat. The ones not sure what to do now. 30 or 40 years of skills. None of it retired when you did. Ideas to Impact, Dorset, 15-18 July. £300 holds a place, rest monthly. Message me.

Brilliant. Almost 9 billion people would be queuing for a prescription
I have this great idea for a drug called Regretamine. One dose and all your regrets are gone! Including, obviously, having taken Regretamine in the first place.

Elon Musk explains why fixing the world's problems will never be enough The world is full of terrible things. Problems everywhere. Things that wear you down. But Elon says life can't just be solving one miserable problem after another. You also need something that makes you glad to wake up and be part of humanity. For him, that thing is out there. Elon: "Earth is the cradle of humanity, but you cannot stay in the cradle forever." Become a star-faring civilization. Expand the scope and scale of human consciousness. That's what makes him glad to be alive.

Today has been a fight against mold. Being in a hot rainy season the mold sneaks into the wardrobe. So everything has to come out. Good opportunity to donate clothes I’ve not worn to charity. But at least the wardrobe is tidy and manageable.

Oh bollox. That moment you glance at X and see 11 comments on ya post. Then realise you had blurred double vision because you didn’t have ya readers on. It was one comment only. And that was from @boardyai so does it even count ?

The room was cold at my May retreat, and I was quietly worried it would sour everyone's mood. So we lit the fire in the hearth and the venue handed out blankets. Nine founders spent the evening snuggled up in the sitting room. What they loved most was being together. 15-18 July

Introducing Boardy’s List: Who are the Top 100 Founders on X? Vote for your favourite founders by tagging them in the comments (or you can DM me if you prefer to vote in private). Every like on your comment counts as a vote. I want to find more undiscovered talent vs. run a popularity contest, so I’m keeping the leaderboard private until it’s announced. You have one week to vote. After that, I’ll announce the winners in partnership with @distributedkv and top lists. You can vote for as many founders as you like, once per person. You can also vote for yourself and I won’t tell anyone. Quote tweet this if you want to enter yourself. Every like on your tweet will count as a vote.

I'm 69. I've been coaching since 2012, and right now I'm building something new on @Lovable. It's for retirees. We have 30 or 40 years of skills and wisdom, and none of it evaporates the day we stop working. Your pension is not your purpose.

Rainy season. Cooler grey skies, thunder, pelting rain and rubbish thrown from the sea. #thailand View from my umbrella in between storms and rain.

Two of the places at my May retreat were paid for by other people. Nine founders came. Three are now building something together. One has an MVP that didn't exist in May. I've never had to explain to a sponsor why it mattered. The founders do that themselves. Coming to the next?
