Another great meeting with @helenhayes_, storytelling and strategising about fair, effective pathways to Citizenship. Particularly great to have your support in fighting for justice for young migrants in Lambeth and across the country.

Beautiful reflection on organising and solidarity from Grace Akinyemi at last night’s @CitizensUK general election assembly “Some of these issues will directly affect our own lives, for the other issues, we care because our neighbour’s struggle is our struggle.”

This is what’s called real engagement. Not questionnaires or digital responses but face to face conversations that take people on a journey to be a part of the solution. Well done @SLondonCitizens @SLondonListens

Children belong in classrooms 📚, not detention centres🚫 In today's vote, we are calling on Parliament #ProtectChildren and #StopChildDetention🧸
Two classrooms of children could be locked up in prison-like conditions every day under the Government’s proposed Bill. We believe children belong in classrooms📚, not detention centres 🚫 #StopChildDetention bit.ly/430hWhs

Lambeth raised the need for an ESOL directory on the council's website at our local election assembly last year, attended by @clairekholland, where we shared the importance of learners being able to easily see information about the different types of ESOL classes in the borough.

Since then we've been working with @lambeth_council's Sanctuary Services Team to deliver on the council's commitment to this directory. A wonderful example of how organised communities can work effectively with local authorities! lambeth.gov.uk/lambeth-sanct… #LoveESOL

"We pride ourselves on being a nation where children are safe, where their best interests are protected." The Gvmt's cruel plan to lock up refugee kids again will traumatise thousands. As Baroness @NosheenaMobarik said, #ChildDetention must be stopped. bit.ly/464AhNg
