Sun 25 Oct @ 09:30. We’ve just caught up with our weather specialist, based in our control room. Storm Boelo’s intensity and winds are in line with the forecast and @MetOffice warning. 60-70mph gusts were recorded widely, with 70-80mph in exposed parts of the west coast.

However, with the extreme weather continuing today I’d urge everyone to check National Rail Enquiries and follow the advice of their train operator with weather conditions changing so quickly.”

There's a risk of rail disruption, so please plan ahead and allow extra time. Sat 24 October: Check before you travel on all Avanti West Coast routes. Sun 25 October: We strongly recommend you avoid travel north of Preston if possible.
