Whenever i see this, i just describe how he got it. Obviously garbage.
In '16 he pooled old studies, mostly elderly inpatients, where a few dozen deaths were judged “preventable.” He took that death rate, multiplied it by every US hospital admission in '13, & announced 251k.
I predict that one day soon, provinces will de-list joint replacement surgery or at least narrow the number of eligible patients. For everyone else, they'll say, "pay for it yourself." This is just a prediction. I have no inside knowledge and think that would be a travesty.

Geriatric ground-level falls require an army of resources. Radiology is heavy. But we also need geriatric nursing, occupational therapy and social work. This is going to be an increasing challenge in the coming years and ER overcrowding is the serious intersecting factor.

Ontario’s hallway health care numbers have hit unprecedented highs:
On an average day in Jan 2025, Ontario hospitals treated 2,088 patients in hallways, break rooms and other spaces never meant for care.
It was the most since Ontario Health began tracking the number in 2017 and 52 per cent more than January 2018, the winter before Doug Ford won a majority government promising to end hallway health care.

Yuri Ushakov is an old-school diplomat. He spent a decade as Russia's ambassador in Washington and has been Putin's foreign policy aide since 2012. He chooses his words with care.
Western media quote him as saying "we need to talk with Europe" and read it as Moscow reaching out to Europe. However, there is a catch. There is no "we" in the original. Here is what he actually said.
He was asked why Washington can't simply dictate peace terms to Kyiv. Ushakov answered that after Anchorage it looked like Washington could. It didn't work, because Europe backs Kyiv. So it is necessary to talk "not only with Kyiv, but also with Europe."
Any Russian speaker understands who this impersonal "it is necessary" is addressed to. Moscow is not talking to Kyiv right now. Washington is. And Washington's "talking" to Kyiv means pressure. Ushakov's message to Washington: you pressure Kyiv, now pressure Europe too, or you won't get Kyiv to accept the terms.
He put it in an impersonal form so Washington doesn't feel it is taking orders from Moscow. That is how professional diplomats speak.
So Russia's position stays exactly where it was. Moscow still wants Washington to force its terms on Kyiv, and now on Europe as well.

זה אולי נשמע מוזר, אבל אין שום בעיה לנהל מדינה עם ממשלת מיעוט של 48 חברי כנסת. ממשלת רבין התחילה כממשלת מיעוט ואפילו הממשלה הנוכחית, ממשלת נמות ולא נתגייס, היא ממשלת מיעוט.
אולי לא שמתם לב אבל המפלגות החרדיות פרשו מהממשלה לפני שנה ותראו קסם - הם מסתדרים מצויין! הם אפילו העבירו תקציב כממשלת מיעוט! ממש קסם נכון? הוא יכול ואנחנו לא?
איך זה עובד, אפילו בממשלה הנוכחית? יש גוש קואליציה, גוש אופוזיציה וגוש נמנעים. האחרונים, כיום אלו החרדים, בעתיד זאת תהיה כנראה הרשימה המשותפת. הנמנעים פשוט לא מפילים את הקואליציה ותומכים רק בחוקים שנמצאים בקונצנזוס.
זאת לא ממשלה טובה. זאת למעשה ממשלת חירום. זאת ממשלה עם המון קשיים אבל זאת ממשלה פי אלף יותר טובה מהממשלה הנוכחית, נכון?
ברגע שמממן החמאס זז הצידה בגלל חוק הנאשם או חוק הגבלת כהונה אין שום בעיה להרחיב את הממשלה עם הליכוד אבל יש עוד אפשרות לא פחות טובה - אולי נגלה ששותפות ערבית יהודית במיוחד לאור הסכמי אברהם שיתרחבו אחרי נתניהו היא דבר לא כלכך נורא? אולי פתאום נראה ששותפות ערבית יהודית היא הרבה יותר טובה לכולנו משותפות עם מפלגות גזעניות ועם מפלגות חרדיות בממשלה?
בקיצור, לדעתי תוצאות הבחירות האלו הן מתנה לישראלים כולם. זאת בחירה. האם נבחר להיות מדינה יהודית ודמוקרטית על פי ערכי מגילת העצמאות או איראן יהודית? אני מקווה שראשי מפלגות השינוי יבינו את גודל השעה.

כן, זה בלתי נתפס שגוש "נמות ולא נתגייס" עדיין מקבל 55 מנדטים, כן זה בלתי נתפס שהאיש שמימן את החמאס עדיין מוביל את העדר הכי גדול, אבל מה שהכי בלתי נתפס זה שאנחנו, גוש השפיות, ניצחנו ושאנשים לא מבינים את זה.
אם מבחינתכם, המיואשים, קול ערבי לא שווה לקול יהודי, אז למה לא הצבעתם לבן גביר? ואם אתם באמת מאמינים בערכי מגילת העצמאות אז איך לא הבנתם שניצחנו עם 65 מנדטים מול 55 מנדטים? (לא סופי)
רוצים להבין למה התעוררתם בדיכאון? כי נכנעתם לשטיפת המוח של נתניהו והשופרות שלו! לו מותר לשבת עם הערבים ולכם אסור? לו מותר לשבת בממשלת מיעוט כבר יותר משנה ולכם אסור? לו מותר לשלוט 20 שנה עם מפלגות אנטי ציוניות ולכם אסור? לו מותר להכניס לכנסת טרוריסט מורשע ולכם אסור לשבת עם מפלגות ערביות?
