Of the 52,247 people who have died from COVID-19 in Canada, I've linked 22,137 deaths to 2544 residential care facilities and 256 deaths to workplace COVID-19 infections. That's 2 new deaths and no new facilities added since April 2.

Can we please try to be serious? Does anyone really think Montreal cops are scalping Black people and urinating on unhoused people because they weren't properly trained or mentored?

I'm just glad I don't live in a dictatorship but a free democracy where every few years I can vote for a different banker or lawyer or landlord that represents the vast network of powerful corporate interests that controls every aspect of my life from cradle to grave
Don't forget that Canada's weapons to Israel are also included in the US' amount.

Germany's century of genocide didn't begin in Namibia but in the Boxer Rebellion where they were the most brutal western army that burned villages, slaughtered civilians, and plundered Beijing. And today, they are the second-largest military supplier of Israel.

On this "obsession" on Israel ... I dunno @BretStephen_NYT, why did you speak to 1st yr Ryerson j-school students in 2005 about Israel? Why didn't you speak to us about London or Tokyo or Rio? Why was my 1st radio piece ever about suicide bombers in Tel Aviv?

THE CEASEFIRE HAS COMMENCED
The ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia took effect at 4:00am Moscow time on October 27, 2026.
Timing was accelerated two days ahead of schedule to protect the safety of civilians and to facilitate the delivery of critical humanitarian aid. The ceasefire’s geographic area has expanded beyond Oleshky, within the Kherson Region, to provide safe passage for the humanitarian convoys.
General Valery Vasilyevich, Joint Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces has confirmed.

This kind of journalism is so fucking irritating. If Lachance knows better than CPDQ Infra, show your homework. He needs the tramway to cost more and journalists know this.
It's why I wrote this: therover.ca/opinion-are-queb…
L’estimation des coûts du tramway calculée par CDPQ Infra entre autres sur une «moyenne du coût par kilomètre» ne convainc pas le chef de l’opposition municipale de Québec. «On demande l’heure juste», presse Stéphane Lachance.

Here’s my article on these shootings from June. I genuinely don’t think CBC adds anything new to it, other than acquiring footage of some of the shootings.

Today CBC published an article with the headline: “Why a spate of gun-for-hire shootings in Toronto were likely paid for by Iran.”
I was intrigued, as there has been almost 0 evidence offered for this claim thus far.
Unfortunately this article doesn’t offer any either, adding nothing new. CBC says they spent weeks on the investigation, so these are pretty pitiful results, at least in terms of finding evidence of who paid for the shootings.
I’m not sure why they feel comfortable with such a declarative headline given the lack of evidence (other than journalistic standards going out the window when the subject is an Official Enemy country).
Also, CBC and other journalists continue platforming police claims that they need backdoor access to messaging apps to solve these shootings, with no push back or critique about how these powers can be abused, including against journalists.
