School librarians create displays to indoctrinate students, as shown here. Do you see the books there, like “Good Trouble” and the one with multiple Marxist fists? Do you see the indoctrination? What about this isn’t indoctrination? Defund ALA. (Photo source: Martha Hickson)

Groombrarians excited that American Library Association engendered state law (Maryland’s Freedom to Read Act (2024)) has sidestepped the US Supreme Court Pico case. But it’s for a narrow reason that could be easily remedied. Let’s look how in this thread 🧵.

New Jersey people: vote for this NJ high school to get a $1M athletic field upgrade.
TERRIBLE OPTICS. @GovSherrillNJ has time to fly to AZ & ask for votes for her pal, but can't spare a minute to ask NJ to vote for Sussex Tech HS, right here in the congressional district she once represented, THE ONLY NJ HS LEFT IN THE RUNNING. She knows this school went years without a football team. Goalposts so old they're grandfathered in despite being non-regulation. A weight room older than I am. A scoreboard that works only if you ask it nicely. No Friday Night Lights... or any lights. Not a single stadium light. Just a rough, uneven field. And Tech is a GREAT school! The only technical school left in the entire country in this competition! These are our future tradesmen & women, kids pursuing technical & engineering careers, and career certifications. A regional school serving all of Sussex County, full of working-class families who live within their means and would appreciate this like no other. She knows we can't all afford private schools with sparkly stadium lights and fancy turf fields like she's blessed to. Especially in rural NJ, where taxpayers are already stretched thin. 🚨TODAY IS THE FINAL DAY TO VOTE. All weekend votes will be tallied & announced Monday morning. As of Friday, we were behind just one school in VA. It's on us, folks. C'mon, New Jersey. Please come through. These are OUR New Jersey kids. 🏈 VOTE HERE: t-mobile.com/brand/friday-ni… Sussex Tech Mustangs Football Sussex County Technical School

Can the Mahmoud ruling be interpretted to require parental notice of curated school library displays? That "children's picture book" book has drawings of men in fetish/bondage gear.

Apparently not just there, but gazing over her child’s shoulder every minute as he browses books; hence, a parent can at best watch one child at a time at these kinds of “libraries.” Trying to imagine how classroom teachers monitor this with 25+ students per visit.

Today, I am recommending four essential works by Tom Purdom, a Philadelphia-based science fiction writer and music critic who enjoyed a remarkable late-career run of more than thirty stories in Asimov’s. Fossil Games (1999): Left obsolete by each new generation of genetic enhancements, our hero joins thousands of other under-enhanced humans fleeing the Solar System aboard a hollowed-out asteroid.  Their voyage turns into a struggle over whether to settle a new world or push on. Bank Run (2005): On a frontier colony world, a banker finds himself hunted by genetically altered mercenaries in the pay of a debt-ridden landowner who wants to seize his bank.  He fights for his freedom with his wits and some white-knuckle financial maneuvering. The Mists of Time (2007): Two unseen time travelers with clashing views watch a tiny Royal Navy schooner pursue a slave ship off the coast of Africa in the 1840s.  A moving tribute to the Navy's campaign against the slave trade. Romance on Four Worlds: A Casanova Quartet (2015): Four stories follow Joseph Louis Baske, a 21st-century Casanova whose love affairs draw him into intrigue on the Moon, Mercury, Phobos, and in the Kuiper Belt. Check out the quoted thread for the recommended works of Theodore Sturgeon, Alfred Bester, Bob Shaw, Clifford D. Simak, Algis Budrys, A.E. van Vogt, C.L. Moore, Cordwainer Smith, C.M. Kornbluth, D.G. Compton, Thomas M. Disch, Alice Bradley Sheldon (James Tiptree, Jr.), John Brunner, Judith Merril, Hal Clement, James Blish, Jack Williamson, Katherine MacLean, Fred Saberhagen, Jack Vance, Leigh Brackett, Edgar Pangborn, R.A. Today, I am recommending four essential works by novelist, screenwriter and social critic Philip Wylie. Gladiator (1930): The seminal proto-superhero tragedy, and likely the inspiration for Superman.  A biology professor injects his wife with a strength-enhancing serum, and their son grows up an alienated demigod searching for some worthwhile use for his powers in a world that has none to offer him. When Worlds Collide (1933, with Edwin Balmer): The gold standard of cosmic catastrophe.  When two rogue planets are found to be on a collision course with Earth, s a small band of scientists races to build a rocket ark, and decide who gets aboard. The Disappearance (1951): Reality splits.  Every woman vanishes from the world of men, while every man vanishes from the world of women.  Wylie uses the parallel worlds to critique mid-century gender roles and social institutions. Tomorrow (1954): A Cold War wake-up call contrasting twin Midwestern cities, prepared Green Prairie and complacent River City, and what civil defense means when nuclear war finally arrives. The Color Revolution plot includes CURRENT EMPLOYEES OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. Stop for a second and think about that. Your tax dollars are paying arrogant federal bureaucrats, whose standard of living, salary and benefits generally exceed the median standards of our nation, and who possess job security that is unheard of in the private sector, to actively seek to overthrow our Constitutional order. They are undermining YOUR CHOICE as American voters because they know what is best for you even if you do not (or so they believe). The arrogance is breathtaking. Besides the fact that we need to root these people out and fire them, we need to outlaw public sector unions. It is the union dues that ultimately come from YOUR TAX DOLLARS that are fed back to Democrat politicians as campaign contributions that perpetuate this noxious self-licking ice cream cone. GRRRRRRRR. This makes me ANGRY like few other things do, maybe because I faithfully served under Democrat presidents I despised but I always remained true to my oath!😡😡😡😡
🚨🚨 THE DEMOCRACY FILES / ILLEGITIMACY PLAYBOOK, PART 8: THE COMPLICIT FEDERAL WORKERS 🚨 In Drop 7, we saw Paul Zeitz type during a Zoom call: "We are also starting to consult federal workers on how to do some blocking inside the govt agencies during emergency situations - but please do not put that on the form." Excuse me? Actively blocking the federal government during an "emergency situation?" And how are federal workers involved with Renew American Democracy (RAD), a group whose primary mission is to a fundamental rewrite of our Constitution? Turns out, a certain federal workers alliance, FWAD, is working closely with RAD on their goal to rewrite America. FWAD is the Federal Workers Alliance for Democracy, formerly known as "Federal Workers Against DOGE." RAD's published strategy lists FWAD among its endorsers. But FWAD isn't just an endorser. It is a founding partner of the Nationwide Deliberation Campaign (NDC). The goal is "a national People's Proposal of structural reforms" - which, in RAD's other videos and strategy documents, is planned to occur just after the federal government has been declared illegitimate. In a nutshell: with no federal government, a representative (read: DEI) panel of citizens will be assembled, their input collated and stitched into a new constitution for the Fourth Founding. But that is not the only path for restructuring. A concept note also proposes "Constitutional amendments," with "state ratification strategies." Either way, all evidence points to that the NGOs in the Block lane know their goal is to rewrite American governance. All the receipts are in this video. 👇 Note: two current federal workers were in the files. As they are not public figures, I withheld these names. I gave them over to contacts in their agencies instead.

"So if your entire plan is built around what happens after the Insurrection Act is invoked, you are building a plan around mass violence happening" Exactly.
I've been going through the Democracy Files leaks @DataRepublican has been releasing, and whether or not any of this ultimately meets the legal bar for seditious conspiracy. The plan these organizers are discussing doesn't hold together unless you assume their "non-violence" language is masking their true intentions from public consumption. Their red line is the Insurrection Act as a potential triggering action, there may be others, but all of the potential triggering acts that have been hinted at are lawful actions. Nobody invokes the Insurrection Act over people walking down the street with signs. It doesn't happen. The Guard deployments in LA and Portland last year to counteract violent protestors weren't even the Insurrection Act. The only scenario where it actually gets invoked is one where there is sustained violence that local authorities can't or won't control. So if your entire plan is built around what happens after the Insurrection Act is invoked, you are building a plan around mass violence happening. You can say "non-violence" as many times as you want. The plan doesn't work without the violence. That's a wink and a nod tactic to cya legally. But understand the logic flow of what comes next. In the transcripts published by The Post Millennial and WECU, the talk is about governors becoming "the leading governing authority," about how to "wall off these illegitimate individuals," and about moving "into an extra-constitutional process." In other words, the federal response has been labeled illegitimate before anything has even happened. That's where this starts to matter legally. The seditious conspiracy statute covers conspiring to oppose by force the authority of the United States, or to prevent, hinder or delay by force the execution of any law. The Supreme Court said back in 1887 that if federal officers carrying out the law are forcibly opposed by people who conspired for that purpose, that is exactly what the statute was written for. If violence breaks out, and the federal government steps in to protect communities, and these same organizers then use ongoing violent protests to tell governors and the public that the federal government is no longer legitimate, that bleeds out of activism and into something far more serious. Advocating an idea isn't a crime necessarily and the courts have been clear about that. But there is a big difference between teaching an abstract idea and lining up the lawyers, the bail money and the governing plan for the day after. Maria Stephan, who co-leads the Horizons Project, the group that co-wrote the toolkit for these organizers, wrote in 2020 that calling the George Floyd protests violent riots "is simply untrue" and that the looting and vandalism were "a minute portion" of it, "largely committed by opportunists." Erica Chenoweth, whose 3.5% rule keeps coming up in these circles, co-wrote that claims the protests were overtaken by rioting "are false." Paul Zeitz wrote last year that troops had been "deployed against peaceful protestors" in LA. So they are obviously hiding behind legalese to cover their tracks while having a background of defining violent protests as non-violent. All of this tells you exactly how they'll describe the violence when it comes. “It isn't really violence, it's a tiny percentage, it's opportunists, and the real threat is the federal response.” They're being evasive and misleading, intentionally. The question now is what the full archive shows. If anyone on these calls is planning to physically resist federal law enforcement once it shows up, or keeps backing these movements after they've clearly turned violent, that's not politics anymore. And it’s worth repeating this last point. If the organizers of this say “peaceful protest” now, but advocate for advancing their plan to delegitimize the authority of the United States government after violent protests break out, they will be exposed to more obvious legal scrutiny.

Researchers asked 85 college English majors to read the first seven paragraphs of Dickens' Bleak House and explain them in plain English. They were allowed to use dictionaries and their phones. Only 5% understood what they read. 58% got lost. These were English majors. About half were training to become English teachers. That study was done in 2015. Kids in K-12 today have had ten more years of SEL, equity and "belonging" crowding out reading. How do you think they're doing? Read hard books with your kids. Don't wait for the school to do it.

Hard to swallow pill: If you’re not prepared to shoot these animals, you will forever be at their mercy. They understand only power and violence. If you aren’t going to overmatch their violence, they will always have power. Postmodern liberals want to believe we’ve outgrown such things. We absolutely have not, and never will.
A completely immorally surreal scene in Lyon: France 🇫🇷 A woman begs the rioters to put out the fire they set at the entrance to the building where children are trapped because the firefighters are blocked further down the street by barricades they erected. The protester tells her, "I don't give a damn, we're young, we want rights."
