Never have heard a democratic legislator say there needs to be more democratic legislators. Honestly.
California Assembly Speaker @RobertRivas_CA @CASpeakerRivas (D-Salinas) speaks on Democrats expanding their supermajorities in both chambers of the Legislature to potential historic highs.
"It's going to be historic in numbers and size."
"People want change. They are tired of being tired. We have to ensure we are delivering results."

If @UofCalifornia comes into a single budget hearing and cries about budget cuts, I will personally advocate to reduce it further by $193 million.

What does “declaring victory” in this case mean? Josh is right to wait until next week. This is going to be an important few days.

I am disgusted by this heartless decision of @CAgovernor @GavinNewsom. Today, Governor Newsom has told the families of murder victims across California that the lives of the worst of the worst killers in our state are worth more than the lives of the innocent people they murdered. With a single decision, he has moved to erase the death sentence of every one of the 548 condemned inmates in California. It is an insult to every victim's family, and I condemn it in the strongest possible terms.
Every one of those sentences was reached the way justice is always reached: one case at a time. A jury convicted each defendant of first-degree murder, found at least one special circumstance true beyond a reasonable doubt, weighed the evidence in a separate penalty trial, and chose death. A trial judge reviewed each verdict, and the California Supreme Court reviewed each case on automatic appeal. It appears that the Governor set all of that aside without examining the facts of a single case.
“Governor Newsom just told the families of Rachel Newhouse, Aundria Crawford, Kesha Gurke and every other innocent victim of California's 548 condemned killers that the killers' lives matter more. Juries chose justice case by case, voters chose it five times, and one outgoing governor is trying to erase it all with a pen. This is a sickening abuse of power.” – Dan Dow, District Attorney @dandow

Californians should be appalled and outraged.
Gavin Newsom waited until two days after the election to overturn 548 death sentences. If he believed this was the right decision, why didn’t he let voters weigh in?
He put his own ambition over victims - victims who had to find out about this decision from a press release.
That’s not leadership. That’s political cowardice.

After this campaign season and seeing all the AI slop, I have never been more convinced to hire a graphic designer for my stuff.
It’s frustrating that my colleagues went out of their way to defeat MY member of Congress, who has diligently served his constituents for 4 years.

This term Joe Patterson banned secret NDAs in Sacramento, first for legislators (AB 1370, passed 79–0 on his third try), then for state agency officials (AB 1652). He also passed Marissa’s Law and a push to make wildfire victims whole. That’s a record worth reelecting.
My 5yo daughter just face timed me. I told her today is an election. She asked what that was- told her that it is when people get to decide if I stay in the Assembly. She sayid “I want you to stay in the Assembly. Tell me tomorrow when I wake up.”
Make it so!

Breaking: Ninth Circuit en banc panel has ruled 6-5 to reinstate this decision after it was vacated last night.
This rules in favor of the DOJ. Prosecutors can continue requests to sequester noncitizen ballots and threaten prosecution. California and Washington state are back on notice!

Seems like a lot of money to help defeat my Republican colleagues.

If you want peptides in California make sure to support politicians like @Patterdude
The FDA has issued interim guidance allowing some amazing peptides - like BPC157 - to be legally compounded by pharmacies. This is great for Americans!
Thank you, @realDonaldTrump , @RobertKennedyJr , and the administration for supporting medical freedom. As peptides move to Category 1, AAPM remains committed to quality sourcing, clinician education, and evidence-based prescribing. #PeptideMedicine #AAPM
