Ghuson’s family fled conflict in Syria for Lebanon. When her father lost his job, they had to return to Syria, where their home had been destroyed.
Her mother, Khadijeh, later heard about a nearby community centre supported by UNICEF and began bringing Ghurson with her.
At the centre, Ghuson can draw, play and learn alongside other children. In one session, she and her friends coloured safety messages and learned how to recognise explosive ordnance.
Through centres like this one, UNICEF provides psychosocial support and information to help children and families stay safe.
