The FTSE 100 dropped 94 points, or 0.9%, to 10,673 in early Tuesday trading, reversing Monday’s gains as selling pressure weighed on London’s leading shares. @HSBC remained a key source of weakness, with its shares falling following third-quarter results that showed a 32% increase in pre-tax profit but fell short of market expectations.
The banking giant’s disappointing share price reaction added pressure to the wider financial sector, contributing to the FTSE 100’s decline despite the company’s announcement of a further $1 billion share buyback.
The FTSE 250 also moved lower, slipping 46 points to 24,455, indicating that weakness extended beyond London’s largest companies. 📑 share-talk.com/ftse-100-fall…

Chris Copper consulting geologist to #FCM stated "This is epic. Pretty rare to see grabs of this type over 300m. Seriously a company maker. Last time I saw VG like this was a long time ago."
A local contractor has been engaged to establish access to the visible gold zone and strip vegetation and overburden, with the aim of exposing continuous bedrock for subsequent washing, geological mapping and systematic channel sampling.
The discovery of this extensive gold anomaly more than one kilometre along strike from Roy strengthens the exploration potential of both the intervening ground and the wider Roy trend. Future prospecting will extend northeast along the soil and VLF survey grid, and southwest towards the Roy drilling area.
The success of this exploration approach also supports further investigation of the Pettigrew and Sunbeam trends, where similar targeting methods may identify additional mineralised zones.

@FirstClassMetal (LON #FCM) has reported further high-grade gold assay results from its Sunbeam property in Ontario, Canada, confirming a gold anomaly extending approximately 300 metres along the Roy trend, more than one kilometre from the historic Roy mine shafts.
The latest findings strengthen the company’s confidence in its earlier visible gold discovery, which returned an exceptional grab sample grading 32,100 grams per tonne (g/t) gold. @JamesKnowlesFCM 📑 share-talk.com/first-class-m…
