I created a "now" page as a way to put some semblance of updates out to the world, for anyone who might be curious!

I spent most of my 30's as an overly-frugal and often shamelessly cheap dude, shoveling every $ I could into the stock market while inhaling any & all content I could on how to manage my $$ mindset when it came to investing.
It sure mentally prepared me for the shit we see now.
I began work @ a health insurer in 2013. Ignorantly asked my new boss what'd happen if the ACA were to expand in scope.
Reply: "Are you a socialist?" (first of many red flags there)
System is F'd. @moneywithkatie digs in better than anyone I've heard. tinyurl.com/4xyv75dt
It never gets old surfing Redfin and seeing listings where the owner obv has grossly inflated their home's value.
Best ones have amateur photos to laugh at. Clearly visible family photos, random junk strewn about, piles of soap and TP stacked sloppily around the toilet.
So, I’m 40 now! Honestly feel good about it. Can’t believe the places I’ve gone and the things I accomplished in my 30’s. Bring on middle age!
Oh boy, I remember coming into work and seeing this email the morning after the 2016 election. Not a great way to start the day.
Also, it was this kind of nonsense that lead me into a mini-retirement less than a year later.
Reminder that building wealth slowly & steadily through conventional means is healthier than trying to get rich quick for the sake of it.
Just in case you forgot, and have fallen into the habit of buying ebooks about how to get rich in 5 months through LEGO flipping.
Watched the “Less is Now” documentary on Netflix. It did nothing for me, besides make me cringe quite a bit.
And I can’t figure out it’s purpose or distinction from the original Minimalists documentary a few years ago.
I haven't written on my blog in 2 years (!) but the web design geek in me implemented dark mode as a sanity/escape project during 2020.
I'm happy with the end result! It auto switches between light and dark mode based on OS settings, also stores preference if manually toggled.
Old man soapbox:
Anyone else chuckle at all the under-25 YouTubers sharing their hardened wisdom on succees, productivity, and fulfilment when they have barely scratched the surface of adult life?
*Shakes fist*
The seasons of life are interesting to observe. I went through an PF-obsessed season for about 4 years, and I wouldn't change a thing if I had to do it again. But damn, do I cringe at how some of the things I thought, wrote, and cared about. Especially in the context of 2020.
This 100%, drank that koolaid myself and even espoused it. Glad I moved on.
Oh, uh...did I mention? Wife and I are expecting our first kiddo in roughly a month. Thought it'd be appropriate to share for many folks I know both virtually and in real life.
Barely seen my closest friends this year (#2020) and I'm no good about staying in touch online.
2020 in a nutshell: the message on this facemask is uhh...unfortunately not embraced by 100% of people.
Awesome YouTube channel I discovered over the weekend. Sharing here, since I'm only the 1.4-something millionth subscriber - so, gotta do my part to get the word out.
Sarcasm aside, I dig it!

Haven't been immediately hooked on a record in awhile, but the streak has ended. One of many tracks I can't get out of my head...youtube.com/watch?v=crZvtA9I…
