Canadian entrepreneurs and innovators are building the future. By unlocking more growth capital, we're helping Canadian companies start here, scale here, and stay here, creating good-paying jobs and strengthening Canada's economy for generations to come. 🇨🇦💼🚀
Canada has the talent, now we're backing it with capital. Today, our government unveiled the $1.75 billion Venture and Growth Capital Plan. It will support Canadian innovators at every stage, starting at pre-seed, and is expected to attract at least $3.8 billion in private investment. So Canadian companies can start here, grow here and stay here.

Twelve years ago today, Corporal Nathan Cirillo was killed while standing sentry at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Several others were injured. Two days earlier, in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Québec, Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent was killed in a separate attack. The attacks of October 2014 left a lasting mark on our country, but they did not change who we are. pm.gc.ca/en/news/statements/…

A serious incident creating a major fire has occurred at CFB Wainwright, in Alberta. Our thoughts are with all the brave women and men affected.   We are working closely with the Government of Alberta and local authorities. Premier Smith and I are in close contact as are our relevant ministers and officials.

Canada is the greatest country on earth. A country where you are free to be who you want to be. To speak your mind. To worship as you choose. To live your life as you wish. That is independence. That is sovereignty.

Boosting Canada’s electricity capacity is a critical move to meet future demand and keep power clean and affordable for families in Brampton and across the country.
Electricity demand in Canada is expected to double by 2050. Through our new National Electricity Strategy, we’re doubling the capacity of our grid to meet that demand — and deliver more clean, reliable, affordable power across the country.
