This #BankHoliday if you are out walking in places where you may meet #WildBoar like #theForestofDean or #theNewForest do not feed them or leave food behind. It is illegal to feed pigs and wild boar food scraps - it risks spreading #AfricanSwineFever. gov.uk/guidance/african-swinā¦

@tedfoldpigs have branched out a tad, and have 10 stunning pure Rottweiler puppies. Bred by a vet, from working parents. All fed on Canagan for the best start. Both vaccines included. DM or 07917890101 for more info / photos.

Swine Vesicular Disease ruled out. The last 48 hours have been harrowing for pig keepers waiting for the results. A reminder of what we have to lose. Don't be the one who puts our breeds and the livelihoods of British pig farmers at risk by feeding kitchen waste to your pigs.

Following reports of possible #FootandMouth or #SwineVesicularDisease on a farm in Norfolk we put in place restrictions & tested samples. Testing has allowed us to rule out these diseases & the 10km TCZs have been revoked. Investigations continue. More at: gov.uk/guidance/swine-vesicuā¦

We are currently investigating a suspected case of #FootandMouth disease in Norfolk.
Movement restrictions and a 10km temporary control zone are in place on the farm. Preliminary testing does not indicate the presence of disease and further work is underway to fully rule it out.
Canāt fault @RoyalMail ās response to my missing signed for solicitors letter. Theyāre refunding me the cost of the extra repeated work that had to be done. Faith restored š„³

Proud mum alert: Oliver Giles of @tedfoldpigs is now a practicing farm vet for #westpointfarmvets after many, many years of study. Could not be any prouder of him :)
@BritishTelecom BT took my phone line on 1st March and gave it to my new neighbour. This happened an hour before my sons final exam before becoming a vet and he missed his exam slot. Still not fixed even though itās their fault. Spending fortunes hot-spotting #BTdontcare.
Our 2022 Novice Pig Keeping Courses start up again next weekend. You'll save the cost of the course by not making those rookie errors that all cost money/compromise welfare, plus you'll have us as piggy mentors for as long as you need us after attending.

The scourge of rodents on farms. Bl**dy things š From a biosecurity view point alone itās worth investing in a farm health plan to deal with them. @AHDB_Pork has some excellent advice on rodent control and hereās an article I published in @PracticalPigs yoursmallholding.com/pigs/deā¦š
