When it comes to San Francisco’s sanctuary city laws, the convoluted “Due Process for All” ordinance makes it all but impossible for even violent, career felons like Milton Ramos-Rodriguez to be deported. SDR asked the mayor and every supervisor about it. Only two answered the questions.

You're brave or crazy to follow SF local politics, but hey come on in. Barak Gila is a discredited Scott Wiener surrogate and should be avoided. ConnectedSF is solid. I argue with @saikatc a lot but he's a good guy and it is instructive to see his takes on issues. @TheVOSF is the best and most independent news source.

Milton Ramos-Rodriguez has a notorious criminal past going back to his teens. He went on the lam twice for a total of over a decade after he killed someone in a drive-by shooting and stabbed an ex-girlfriend. Yet the mayor and supervisors rallied behind him after his arrest by ICE and continue to defend sanctuary for all.

Ramos-Rodriguez was also charged in 2023 with false imprisonment and possession of a firearm and was sentenced the following year. He is on probation and wore an ankle monitor as recently as a month ago.

The California Constitution commands that Supreme Court justices, justices of the courts of appeal, and superior court judges “shall be elected.” It’s been that way since 1849. Yet they are almost never elected or rejected at the polls by voters.
