3/ Binance hit by $6.3 billion hack suspected to be the largest in history
Binance has reported that $6.3 billion in digital assets were impacted by what could be the largest hack in history. The world’s biggest crypto exchange says around half of the affected assets have been frozen, while many remain in the hands of hackers. Binance has pledged to cover all losses. Early checks suggest the incident may have involved a compromised engineer’s laptop, allowing an attacker to make unauthorized withdrawals.
4/ Polymarket suspends trading after third-party provider compromise
Polymarket halted trading on Thursday after reporting that one of its third-party providers had been compromised, amid reports that users’ funds were being drained.
5/ Tampered Ledger wallets cost Singapore users $2.7 million
Singapore police reported $2.7 million in losses linked to tampered Ledger wallets. At least two cases were reported as early as September 10, nearly a month before the wider incident became public.
