I am very rarely at a loss for words, but the outpouring of support, love, and kindness today and over the course of my 34 years at @saintjosephs has left me in awe. I look forward to celebrating with friends and family at a game (will not be the VCU game!) this season.

Sources: Matt Painter’s amended contract includes a salary raise to $7 million for this upcoming season, up from $5.2 million. The deal escalates by $50,000 each year. He’ll be among the country’s Top 10 coaches in pay and projects as No. 3 in the Big Ten behind Tom Izzo and Brad Underwood this year.

Known as the “Dunking Dutchman,” Rik Smits dominated the paint for @MaristMBB before becoming the No. 2 overall pick in the 1988 NBA Draft. He went on to spend 12 seasons with the Indiana Pacers, earning NBA All-Star honors in 1998 and helping lead the franchise to the NBA Finals in 2000.
From his days soaring above the rim at Marist to becoming one of the most recognizable big men in the NBA, Smits’ legacy continues to inspire generations of Red Foxes.
Congratulations and welcome to the Marist Athletics Hall of Fame, Rik Smits '88

Congrats @KentPavelka on a career well done. It's been an honor sharing and following your career since we first met at a NU-KU game in 1983. You've been a rock for Nebrasketball. This farewell tour is going to be epic. And yes, there should be a banner with your name on it.
