Happy Birthday to a Savannah legend, Lt. John White. He is a Marine Corps veteran of WWII. He later worked for SPD becoming the first sworn in African American officer in Georgia. He was one of "The Original Nine", the first nine black officers who worked for the SPD.

Water has filled our marshes the last few days because of the “king tides”.
Thankfully, the impacts have been limited and the water has provided some amazing views!

A Coastal Flood Advisory will be in effect from 7AM - Noon. The tide is projected to reach 9.7' (minor flood stage) around 9 AM. We are not expecting this to impact travel.

The morning high tides will remain elevated today and tomorrow. Any time the tide gets close to 10' at Fort Pulaski, water gets close to Highway 80.

A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect until 11 AM. The Fort Pulaski tide gage is predicted to hit moderate flood stage (10') between 8 AM and 9 AM.
