In partnership with local residents we aim to take immediate action in #Furzedown, to plant 1000 trees over the next year
Great tree walk around Furzedown with Liam Hutton, Arboricultural Officer with @EnableParks Wandsworth yesterday evening. Learned about asymmetrical elm tree leaves, the snake bark maple, why and how trees are pollarded and managed, and much more. Thank you Liam!
At 6.00 pm today at Furzedown Recreation Ground ( between Chillerton Rd and Furzedown Drive, Tooting), Liam Hutton, Arboricultural Officer from Enable LC will lead a walk around parts of the Furzedown Tree Trail, answering questions about trees we encounter on the way. FREE.
Talk about trees sitting under a tree! Wed.16th June, 6.30pm Furzedown Recreation Ground. 1000 Trees for Furzedown campaign meeting. Meet near the Red Oak (largest tree in the park). All welcome.
Yard sale, raffle, fundraiser furzedown.net/yard-sale-raff… via @furzedown_net on Saturday 19th June 11.00-4.00pm
Lots of stalls around Furzedown including Caroline's Collectables, a pop-up vintage, retro, antiques stall in Brookview Road (short road, you won't miss it).
The 21 new street trees planted in Furzedown Ward this year by @enableLC means our website count-down 1000treesforfurzedown.co.uk is now at 922 further trees to plant. Help water your local new street trees in dry weather.
Surely no pruning should be done after March, as the tree will be damaged and healing impacted if there is a dry summer. Are there plans for extra watering/feeding?
