If you think a fighter should be stood up from back mount then you probably shouldn't watch MMA.
Back mount and top mount are the two positions where a referee should NEVER stand a fighter up from.
The few idiots in the crowd who booed do NOT represent the majority of MMA fans.

I feel like if you have ever grappled before, even one time at a trial BJJ class, you understand this was completely fucked. Taking the back requires skill & effort. So does escaping the back. One guy used his energy and then the other guy didn't have to because of the referee

We are talking about completely different standards of refereeing in the main and co-main event
In grappling, guard = least dominant.
In grappling, back = most dominant.

Nolan rewarded for stalling the fight. End of story. This is the type of refereeing you see in third world countries with refs wearing jeans and flip flops. Not a ranked UFC fight.

Being a good sport about it, but I would like to see Moicano advocate for himself more. Fans can't drive change as much fighters can. He got screwed out of a position he earned and he deserved a fair opportunity. Nolan deserved a chance to earn a cleaner & more decisive victory
