A group of 30 Jews were charged with the barbaric, ritualistic murder of the 4 year old Konrad Lori. The 30 Jews charged with the murder & were executed. The rest were exiled from the city, again. Upon their return to the city, some 20 years later, all were forced to wear little red hats, so they could be identified by the locals.
