Couldn't agree more. Been diving into using dip pens and water color and it gives me a whole new respect for manga artists. it's just so much harder and fuck ups can be detrimental. But god damn it's more tactile, satisfying and way more fun. Undo is OP.

I think people do this because the jump from 2D to 3D animation isn't the same as the jump from 2D cells to software. You still have to use digital compositing to get the final mp4 regardless of medium so it's similar to comparing trad and digital comics in terms of difficulty.
