💥🚀 New footage released by local residents shows strike by eight Ukrainian Storm Shadow cruise missiles during the October 25 attack on Russia’s Energia plant in Yelets. Missiles slam into the same spot one after another, with no visible air defense response. Witnesses claim eight missiles struck the facility. Energia produces batteries for Russian missiles, aircraft, and other military equipment. Combined with the October 23 Storm Shadow strike on Proton in Oryol, the scale of these attacks suggests Ukraine may have received a substantial new shipment of the missiles.

According to sources cited by The Wall Street Journal, President Trump's administration has proposed former Hungarian Prime Minister Orbán as a candidate for UN Secretary-General. The United States is reportedly counting on Russia and China to support the idea. The Wall Street Journal notes that Washington not only supported the former Hungarian PM’s decision to enter the race but even suggested the idea to him. According to a preliminary assessment, Orbán could secure eight votes on the UN Security Council "without much difficulty." To receive an official recommendation, a candidate must secure at least nine votes from the Security Council's 15 members, with none of the five permanent members (the United States, Russia, China, the United Kingdom, and France) voting against (i.e., exercising their veto power). Rumors of Orbán's potential candidacy could be part of the ongoing negotiations between the United States, Russia, and China. Orbán is seen as a compromise candidate, combining loyalty to President Trump with close ties to Moscow and Beijing. For Moscow, having its own person in the UN's top administrative position could mean pro-Russian influence within the organization's structures. During his time as PM, Orbán repeatedly criticized and blocked EU sanctions packages against Russia and opposed military assistance to Ukraine. If Orbán becomes UN Secretary-General, Ukraine and Europe could face increased diplomatic pressure, particularly over sanctions and negotiations on Moscow's terms. The Office of the UN Secretary-General sets the agenda and prepares official reports. It is possible that under Orbán, UN institutions could shift their focus away from documenting Russian war crimes and violations of international law and instead seek to obstruct the establishment of a special international tribunal and efforts to secure reparations from Russia.

As I wrote in The New York Times, it is for Israel’s good and the greater good that it remain a democratic bastion, and that means not splitting itself impossibly between secular rights and theocracy. Links to my articles and further comments in Leonid's post.
Перевод интервью на русский язык: t.me/vostochnysyndrome/23481 t.me/vostochnysyndrome/23482 t.me/vostochnysyndrome/23483

You’re going to prison.
Correct. Using Starlink, a civilian commercial service, for offensive drone strikes to kill people has never been allowed, nor should it be. Starshield, a different system, is controlled by the US government. What they decide to do is up to them. Ukraine military violated Starlink terms of service and used it for offensive drone strikes to kill people. That loophole was closed last week. Starlink remains critical to the defense of Ukraine, as it is the only system that cannot be jammed or blown up, at least for now. Were Starlink to be turned off, the Ukrainian front line would collapse immediately. This is NOT a threat, it is simply a statement of fact. Starlink was also crucial to preventing Russia from overrunning Ukraine in the early days of the war, as all other means of communication were destroyed or jammed by Russia. SpaceX has done more to defend Ukraine than any private company on Earth BY FAR. That said, I have nothing but UTTER CONTEMPT for the virtue-signaling evil warmongers who push for endless slaughter and offer no realistic solution to the conflict. May you burn in hell. End of story.

It’s a remarkable coincidence that SpaceX discovered and closed a “loophole” in a way that severely harmed Ukraine in the very same week that the White House had a dispute with Ukraine. Just astonishing luck that SpaceX lawyers got to the issue at the very same time by chance!

the russian airforce is now fielding ad hoc infantry that is under the command of reserve forces. no experienced troops are left to train or lead them. Family members of soldiers from the 1st Motorized Rifle Special Purpose Regiment (KT) of the Aerospace Forces are writing. They are describing the challenges of training under current conditions. It's particularly disheartening to read this given the difficult situation on the front lines. It seems like an attempt to put out a fire with gasoline, as one of the key reasons for the stalled offensive is the completely unprepared personnel. The experienced soldiers have been depleted, the young recruits haven't had time to gain experience, and there's no one to train them. Meanwhile, the front lines constantly need fresh troops. That's how we're living. "I request that the situation with the 13th Missile and Space Regiment, the 4th Special Operations Brigade, and the 1st Motorized Rifle Special Purpose Regiment (KT) of the Aerospace Forces be made public. This unit is carrying out combat missions in the Kharkiv direction under the operational control of the 1431st Motorized Rifle Regiment. I'll start by saying that the personnel of the 13th Missile and Space Regiment are engineering and technical personnel of the Aerospace Forces who have no experience in combat and have undergone a purely formal two-week training course (combat coordination). During the training, they were not properly instructed or shown anything, from the basic use of small arms to engineering training. Upon arrival at the location of the combat mission, the 13th Missile and Space Regiment was assigned an area to establish positions in, where no engineering reconnaissance had been conducted. The soldiers were led through open areas, exposed to drone surveillance, into a territory controlled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The result of this was that within the first two days of arriving at the location of the combat mission, three soldiers were killed." We must add that, against the backdrop of the utter darkness of recent weeks, such cases are starting to seem normal. But that doesn't make them normal. 🔥 Lady Bavovna paid a visit to Voronezh tonight. The locals seem surprisingly thrilled. Turn your sound on, because this clip is particularly interesting: it starts with what you might expect to hear from someone who listens to Russian propaganda, but then reveals how they really feel. Just FYI: whenever Voronezh gets hit by Ukrainian ‘sanctions,’ it’s particularly ironic because, in Russia, it’s long been considered a city that Russia would be more than happy to sacrifice. Here’s an old Russian joke about Voronezh and why Russia would never nuke the EU or the US: One general says to another, “Let’s strike Miami.” “I can’t, my wife and daughter live there.” “Then maybe London?” “No, my grandchildren study there.” “So where are we supposed to strike?” The second general shrugs. “Somewhere our family members don’t live.” “Voronezh, then?”
