Theory: Rockstar did this on purpose to get people to purchase a 2nd copy on a NZ account to act as a double dip. Treat this decision as an unofficial early access tier for GTA 6.

Classic Discord. This is caused because they try to store the file on their servers and .gif's usually get compressed but their compression ends up failing. Discord simply wants to spy on everyone. Why do you think messages are plain-text?
