A major new report by police chiefs has found that a rise in violence against women and girls is linked to "online influences" and harmful content.
In its first national risk assessment - the report said at least 230,000 children and young people in relationships were victims of abuse.
They also found domestic abuse remained the most significant threat and described the scale of violence as a "national emergency".
231 women killed. 53 deaths officially labelled as suicides.
A new investigation by Zan Times documents a devastating pattern of femicide in Afghanistan, where women are being killed in their own homes while perpetrators often escape accountability.

The UK's abolishment of study visas for Afghans when women and girls are banned from education in Afghanistan is not ethically sustainable.
The UK is introducing a brake on work & study visas for Afghan nationals due to abuse of these routes to claim asylum. We remain committed to support those in genuine need, this does not diminish our support for the rights & freedoms of all Afghans.

Look forward to reading this and the other chapters in this volume
I am delighted to have finally received my copy of the thought-provoking volume Mapping the Future of Afghanistan, to which I had the privilege of contributing a chapter titled:
“Women, Violence and Law: A Critical Analysis of Women's Rights in Afghanistan.”
In this chapter, I employ a legal feminist methodology to explore gender power relations and the complex interplay between socio-cultural norms and law in Afghanistan.
The analysis seeks to shed light on the structural challenges and potential pathways for advancing women’s rights and justice in the country.
My heartfelt thanks go to the editors and all contributors for their hard work, insightful scholarship, and dedication in bringing this important project to life.

Seems like Norway's Taliban policy could be moving a little bit

The international legal order must of course also apply to women, regardless of which society they live in. Norway should therefore be as supportive of international law in the case of Afghanistan as in the Middle East, Ukraine, and elsewhere.
