“It’s not only Mbuyiseni, all senior EFF members knew… We discussed it and reached the same conclusion that we’re not being fair to society if we say that this comrade can lead this country. We were unanimous.” - @FloydShivambu

South Africa is poor guys. We can't be the capital of anything. Maybe Bostwana and Zimbabwe.
Genuine question for my South African friends, do you consider South Africa the "capital of Africa"?

Did you share the same sentiment about the MKP, when they were the biggest party in KZN in the last elections?

3. Denying Helen the position of mayor is legally permissible but would violate the substantive intent of our democracy. How can the biggest party be excluded? We should therefore try and avoid it if at all possible? So what are Helen’s options for coalition partners?

I told you all about Deloitte getting the IEC contract. The CEO of Deloitte Global is a JEW.
BREAKING: The MK Party has formally lodged an objection with the Electoral Commission of South Africa. The MK says its objection relates to concerns regarding reported system failures, discrepancies between electronically captured results and physical results slips, as well as irregularities in the counting, verification and reconciliation processes, particularly within the eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality. The Party has accordingly requested an immediate audit of the disputed results, the suspension of further processing of affected results pending verificaBon, access for independent forensic analysis and the resoluBon of all outstanding discrepancies before the final declaration of the election results. The MK Party says it regards this intervention as necessary to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process, ensure transparency and protect the democratic will of voters. The Party will await the Commission's consideration and response to the formal objection. @SABCNews #LGE2026

If this lady couldn’t become a clear winner in Tshwane then I have no hope of South Africa ever improving. We are clearly not all looking for leaders who do the job, clearly not smh.
This is mayor material guys. This is what public administration and being a public servant is all about

The importance of voter turn out - cannot be underestimated
DA support is not increasing massively, as claimed There is no dispute that the ANC's election performance in 2026 was terrible. But the attempt by the DA and some media to create the impression that the DA has made massive inroads in 2026 is not supported by the evidence. While it has made some gains, the reality is far from the claimed blue tsunami: - The DA is an 8.8% party representing a declining share of the population, dropping by over 3 percentage points: in 2026 it won votes from 8.8% of the total adult population, compared to 12.1% of the total adult population in 2016. - The DA's proportion of the vote declined nearly 3 percentage points from 27.39% of the national vote in the 2016 local government elections, to only 24.59% in the 2026 elections. - Despite claims of a massive increase in black voter support, the increase in DA support is at best modest, with election experts estimating total support by black voters for the DA in 2026 is still only a feeble 8% of total black votes. So, read the pro-DA political propaganda with extreme caution!

“That’s a sign of a failing city when property prices go lower and lower” - Hey Joburg, your mayor just said affordable housing is a sign of a failing city. 🤭
WATCH | DA’s Johannesburg mayoral candidate Helen Zille has weighed in on concerns about property affordability in Johannesburg, saying falling property prices would be a sign of a failing city.

This is a rather disappointing tweet from you. Squaring everything to just one thing when its just more than that. That party has a service delivery banner from a very capitalist perspective and that doesn’t work for a lot of us. But like how other tweets have already pointed it, you’ll never get it or choose not to.
People are considering voting for the ANC in the national elections just so the DA doesn’t win majority. Do you understand how weird it is that you’d rather have no service delivery and corruption than vote in a party that could do better?
