During the bank holiday weekend, Limerick Station was closed while the rebuilt Foynes Line was commissioned. A number of test trains operated on the Sunday and Monday to test the routes with the first train to reach Foynes in 24 years on Monday.

‘The Fear’ by Tara Bergin was one of two published in Issue 52, Summer 2025 of @stingingfly magazine.
The judges said: ‘what was remarkable about 'The Fear' was its universality: it transmits across the generations and across experience, and that collective fear we all share about its legacy for those that follow. It's a simple poem and yet it does so much. It's not only timely; it's timeless.’
Tara says: ‘Many years ago I devised a poetry writing class called ‘Fear Poetry’. I got so interested in the whole idea I had to try it myself.’
