I'm sure there are many who think that's what they're supporting Adam, but in reality when you chant "globalize the intifada" and "from the river to the sea", you are supporting the genocide of Jews, while pretending to be protesting genocide. If they wanted peace they would have been chanting ceasefire, or some other derivative - not "by any means necessary". You can criticize the Israeli government, I've protested the settlements since the 90's, but I can't join a march with people wearing Hamas bandanas, carrying signs venerating Nasrallah/Sinwar/Khomeini, carrying flags with swastikas and accusing Israelis of being Nazis. Anyone who walks alongside them is condoning them, aligning themself with them, and emboldening them.

I was a teacher, my sister a nurse practitioner, my brother a psychiatrist, like my father, and my mother a social worker. We serve Canadians, regardless of demographic. We got paid the same amount as Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, or any other teacher, nurse, doctor or social worker. As Jews, we were no richer than anyone else. We had no more power, or control, than any other colleague. Often less. I voted NDP or Liberal my entire life. I personally don't need the social programs they support - but I cared about others. I believed in our social contract, and willingly paid, and pay a high tax rate. Now every group my family and I supported have turned on us. BLM, Indigenous groups, left wing politicians, Gay rights activists - we supported them all. Now they march chanting "From the River to the Sea" - meaning the genocide of 7 million Jews living in Israel today. I support Palestinian and Israeli citizens - it is the Jihadi movement I detest. Genghis Khan, Hitler, Vlad the impaler... throughout history there have been many who needed no excuse to be evil. They weren't "occupied", they weren't "Oppressed." Hezbollah kills Maronite Christians and Druze, the Houthis slaughter Yemenites, Boko Haram are wiping out Nigerian and Sudanese Christians - none of them are "occupied." They are the occupiers.
