Today’s #QuarantineQueston - What are some things we should “leave behind” in schools when things return to ‘normal?
I'm excited to learn from Dr. Hollie @validateaffirm in @MorenoValleyUSD Are YOU willing to be more sensitive, understanding and aware? #culturallyresponsive

I've been in bed for a week now with Covid-19. I didn't socialize. I always wore a mask. Now I see my family members getting sick. Fortunately none of us have needed the hospital. We are doing what we can to take care of each other.

Ah, you’re preparing kids for the real world...
So, you’re...
...allowing retakes.
...extending deadlines.
...allowing resources on tests.
...letting them pursue their passions.
...giving them evenings/weekends off.
Thank you. It’s important to prepare them for the world.
My hubby went grocery shopping for Thanksgiving. He brought home 6 POUNDS (abt 3 kilos) of butter! There are 6 of us living here. No one else is coming. What does he think I'm making? Lol.

Numb. Here is a powerful 3.5 minutes. A good reminder to be thinking about our students' level of stress during these times. Video: safeyoutube.net/w/K4Dfb @RCOE @BaynesHeidi @edtechsteveh @mleffin @TrPatel20 @LucyKirchh @SueThotz @lainierowell
I put a twist on the @mathgrrl mask and added embroidery. She has a great artice/tutorial on how to make them and their efficacy on her website. I think all my masks will be fancy now.

The mask efficacy research article on the CNN site today puts homemade 2-layer cotton + interfacing sewn masks almost as high as N95s in stopping droplet transmission ("Poly/Cotton" in the chart). Learn how to make them at Hacktastic: mathgrrl.com/hacktastic/2020…

“Online learning doesn’t work for families!”
We also didn’t do it right. We didn’t give it a fair chance. We did emergency learning not online learning.

I made a graphic to explain why we can't go back to school. Data shows a direct correlation btw open # of childcare facilities & C19 cases. Kids make up at least 33% of cases, they aren't immune. Growth is exponential, it will get much worse much faster #covid19 #distancelearning
