Will Smith's TV aunt was making about $250,000 a year. In 1993, she lost all of it. Will went on the radio and said she'd gone "from a quarter of a million dollars a year to nothing." She had a newborn baby at home. She didn't speak to him for 27 years. In the video below, Janet Hubert finally says it to his face: "You took all that away from me with your words." In 1993, she was offered a new contract. About two and a half months of work a year, less money, and no other jobs allowed. Her husband was out of work. She says the marriage was abusive. She said no. The new season opened with a joke. Jazz said something was different about Aunt Viv since she had the baby. On that Atlanta radio show, Will added: "She's mad now, but she's been mad all along." The word that followed her was "difficult." For a Black woman in Hollywood, she says, it's "the kiss of death." She says she lost "everything. Reputation, everything." The case for Will: he was in his early 20s, carrying his first show. The contract came from the producers, not from him. And she turned it down. 27 years later, he told her: "The person I want to be is someone who protects you, not someone that unleashes dogs on you." He went on to make $20 million per movie. She waited 28 years for her next recurring TV role. So did Will Smith ruin Aunt Viv's career, or did she ruin it herself?

Hey @grok, is this true?? Some data centers now run on lab-grown human brain neurons derived from stem cells, wired directly to silicon chips via electrode arrays, and kept alive on life support. Fed sugar every few days. They play Doom. We don’t know if they’re conscious.

Yes, largely true. Cortical Labs' CL1 systems use stem-cell-derived human neurons on electrode arrays, kept alive in sealed life-support units with nutrient media (sugar/salts) refreshed every few days. Biological data centers in Melbourne and Singapore now run racks of them. They've controlled Doom via electrical signals. No evidence of consciousness—just adaptive neural activity.

Nasty work. If this is true , she robbed this man to bail out her husband , that’s criminal
Russell Simmons says his ex-wife took his $800,000,000 stock to bail out her new husband. In the video below, the Def Jam co-founder explains how he found out. Simmons and Kimora Lee were together for 15 years and raised two daughters. After the divorce they stayed close. He even calls himself godfather to her other children. Her next husband was Tim Leissner, a Goldman Sachs banker who pleaded guilty in the 1MDB scandal, one of the biggest financial frauds in history. Simmons says Leissner’s bail was secured with shares of Celsius, the energy drink he helped build. “One day they just took it behind my back and gave it to the government as his bail.” Back then the shares were worth $60–70 million. Today, he says, they’re worth around $800,000,000, and he’s suing to get his half back. Kimora denies it and says Tim’s money paid for that stock. Did Kimora have the right to use that stock, or did she just steal it?

Bob Costas was 18 when his father dropped dead at JFK airport. At the wake, a man handed him a thick envelope with $6,000 in $100 bills. It was everything his father left behind, and a bookie would never have paid it to a dead man. In the video below, he tells the story himself. His father, John, was a big-time gambler. Not casinos, not racetracks. Ball games. Bob says the mortgage was literally riding on his bets. When the games went the wrong way, he threw things, cursed and yelled. Bob’s mom and sister would leave. Bob stayed, because watching the games with his dad was the only way to be close to him. Friday, May 15, 1970. A cop knocks on the door. Before he says a word, Bob’s mother asks, “My husband’s dead, isn’t he?” John Costas had a heart attack walking through JFK. He was 42. At the wake, one of his gambling buddies walked in with the envelope. “Your father was up when he died. Give this to your mother.” A bookie never pays a dead man, so the friend went to the bookie himself and said John sent him to collect. Decades later, Bob Costas refused to read sports betting ads on air. Today the bookie lives in everyone’s phone. Is that progress?

Kendrick Lamar, “Last Real Nigga Alive” (Unreleased). Recorded during his early years, the track revisits The Game’s The Documentary era and Kendrick’s early attempts to get his music heard. Dot reflects on the moment he handed a mixtape to someone connected to Game, later learning his music had been dismissed. The irony hits differently today, with Game airing grievances about Kendrick’s lack of loyalty while seemingly taking shots at him and aligning with Drake. Funny how the roles have changed.

Abraham Shakespeare won a $30 million lottery jackpot in 2006. Three years later, the money was gone, and so was he. He had worked washing dishes and on garbage trucks in Lakeland, Florida. After the win, he paid off mortgages for family, friends, and some complete strangers. “I really would like my old life back,” he said. Among the new friends was Dee Dee Moore, who offered to manage his money. In a home video, she asks whether he’s tired of people asking him for money. “They don’t take no for an answer,” he replies. He was last seen in April 2009 but wasn’t reported missing until November. In January 2010, police found his body under a concrete slab in Moore’s backyard. Prosecutors say she tried to convince his mother he was still alive, arranging a phone call with someone posing as him. Her ex-husband testified he dug a hole with a backhoe at her request. Then came the forged letter to his mother, supposedly written by Shakespeare. He was illiterate. Informant Greg Smith secretly recorded Moore. He testified she told him to burn the body and gave him a list of supplies, including kerosene. On tape, she also discussed a plan for another man to take the blame for about $50,000. Moore maintains she is innocent. She faced a mandatory life sentence. He escaped poverty for three years, surrounded by people who all wanted a piece of him. The one who offered to protect his money was the one burying him in her yard. Was it the lottery that killed him, or the trust he placed in the wrong person?
