She danced in nightclubs, went to auditions, and slowly worked her way into the film industry. By the 1940s she had become a recognizable leading lady. In 1956 she appeared in *The Ten Commandments* as Sephora opposite Charlton Heston. In 1955 she had married stuntman Bob Morgan. Then in 1962 Bob was working on *How the West Was Won* when a dangerous train stunt went horribly wrong. He lost a leg and suffered permanent damage to one eye. The medical expenses placed an enormous financial strain on the family. Yvonne stepped away from acting for a time so she could care for her husband, but she still needed a way to provide for their household. Producers offered her the part of Lily Munster in a new television comedy. For an actress known largely for dramatic film roles the offer was unexpected, but it provided steady work. In 1964 *The Munsters* premiered with Yvonne starring alongside Fred Gwynne and Al Lewis. The show quickly became a beloved comedy and introduced her to a new generation of viewers. Yvonne’s marriage to Bob eventually ended in divorce, but she continued working in films, television, and theater. Even years later audiences continued to remember her most fondly as Lily Munster. She died in 2007 at the age of 84. Behind the famous character was a woman who had endured a devastating family crisis and accepted an unexpected television role because her family needed the income.

Just across the parking lot, Ron Nessman had been waiting outside a nearby car wash after a job interview. He spotted the runaway stroller and realized it was heading straight toward the road. Without hesitating, he took off running, desperately trying to close the distance before the stroller reached the passing vehicles. The entire terrifying moment was captured on a security camera. As the stroller approached the edge of the parking lot, Ron caught up and grabbed the handle, stopping it before it entered the street. He then carefully brought the baby back to his shaken great-aunt, who was overcome with relief. But what makes Ron’s story even more remarkable is what he had been going through himself. After losing his girlfriend, he had struggled with homelessness and was working to rebuild his life. That day, he had been trying to get a job. Instead, he found himself in the right place at exactly the right moment to save a little boy. The rescue video spread across the country, and Ron later received news that he’d gotten the job he had interviewed for. BREAKING UPDATE — Eleven days after a 7-year-old girl with a rare disability was shot inside her elementary school, her family is celebrating a major breakthrough. Little Saylor Graham-Poarch has survived the unthinkable and is finally OUT OF INTENSIVE CARE! Three little boys, ages 5, 8 and 11, and 25-year-old teacher Megan Lambert were killed. Saylor was among those seriously wounded and had to be flown to a hospital in Portland. This sweet little girl was already living with CASK, a rare genetic condition that affects her development. She uses a wheelchair and communicates with help from a tablet. But she has a beautiful love for music and dancing. Her dance instructor, Shannon Guerrero, helped organize a community gathering where dozens of people danced, wrote encouraging messages and showed their love for Saylor while she fought to recover. Now comes the update so many have been praying for. In a statement shared with FOX 12 Oregon, Saylor’s family confirmed she has been moved out of intensive care and is in stable condition. Her recovery is far from over, but this is a tremendous step forward. And even as they celebrate their daughter’s progress, her parents haven’t forgotten the families whose loved ones never came home. In their statement to FOX 12, the family expressed gratitude for Saylor’s progress while sharing their heartbreak for the three children and teacher who were killed. They also thanked everyone who has prayed, sent messages and supported them through these frightening days. Today, they have a reason to celebrate.
