We’ve been using teasers for several joinings now and have seen consistently strong results. They remain one of the most effective tools for tightening the joining window, with 70% of our ewes conceiving within the first 14 days of joining in December.
Teasers help synchronise ovulation, but that’s only half the equation. Having enough healthy, fit rams that are ready to work is just as important to ensure every ewe is covered.
When flush feeding and teasing are combined, the potential for a large ovulation event is high. Having enough “soldiers on the battlefield” means no opportunities are missed.
Good reproductive performance doesn’t happen by chance it’s the result of stacking the odds in your favour and paying attention to the details that makes the difference.
