If we’re serious about rebuilding youth sports around kids, we need to support the adults who make youth sports possible.
In a recent @chicagotribune letter, @scefdn Haviland Sharvit makes the case for treating coach development as essential infrastructure alongside fields, leagues and affordable access.
She also points to how Chicago-based MCC Partners @CHJSorg, @PositiveCoachUS and @Laureus_USA Chicago are showing what’s possible to achieve systems-level change.

Instruction tells kids what to do. Inspiration shows them who they can become. Powerful reminder that relationships, encouragement, & positive role models drive real growth. I love that this author was inspired by Phil Jackson at @PositiveCoachUS talk! dailyrepublic.com/opinion/lo…
