Huge thanks to @amalmattu and @CheyenneFalatMD for a rockstar review of our recent @WildMedSociety Practice Guidelines for drowning. Concise, spot on, and accurate (which is rare when it comes to the subject). buzzsprout.com/593305/221312… @hawkvox @LifeguardsWB

Systematic review confirms what we know: C-spine injury in drowning is rare. Efforts to immobilize impede resuscitation. bit.ly/2qEguFx @EmergencyMedBMJ: 2 articles in Nov issue with out-dated term "near drowning". Please see: bit.ly/2PtsRMZ #drowninglit

When applying study results, know who they studied. Recent drowning study about conventional vs compression-only CPR. 81% of patients were over 65. Very different from most other drowning studies. Results cannot be applied generally. drowninglit.com/2019/11/byst… #drowninglit

I’m a coauthor on these Wilderness Med Society practice guidelines and I’m proud of the work we did. It’s worth reading if you might be involved in a drowning incident. Which is...everyone. #stopdrowning wemjournal.org/article/S1080… @WildMedSociety #drowning @904schmidt @LifeguardsWB

Spot on evidence-based episode. No surprise given help from @drpaddymorgan. We updated the terminology data they discussed in 2015 and found 32% of lit still using outdated terms. Improvement, but a ways to go. Thanks @TheResusRoom
