Scottish Labour (@ScottishLabour) leader Michael Marra (@michaeljmarra) says Glasgow City Council would have received ยฃ357 million more in 2025โ26 had its funding risen in line with the Scottish Governmentโs (@scotgov) block grant.
Deputy First Minister Jenny Gilruth (@JennyGilruthMSP) pointed to almost ยฃ15.7 billion for councils in 2026โ27, including more than ยฃ1.8 billion for Glasgow, and the two figures cover different years.

Itโs been reported that the US has told Zelenskyy to stop striking Russiaโs oil refineries, or the US will shut down its intelligence sharing with Ukraine.

So many people on this site owe @PhillipsPOBrien an apology. He has been the loudest one who consistently has said that all of these moves โ the sanctions package, PURL, etc. โ r ultimately meaningless. Because Trump fundamentally will always side with Putin in the end. There are some strange anomalies in this war โ the continued CIA targeting Support is one (credit Ratcliffe for during golf games somehow forcing this through, itโs a mystery how) โ but letโs just be very clear. Phillips was right. Thereโs a lot of suckers out there. Including everyone in the GOP side who while they profess to be pro Ukraine, can never fully criticize Trump for what he is. An ally of Putin. That Trump turned to Putin to bail him out before the November elections is the greatest of all October surprises โ but maybe it shouldnโt be a surprise.
