A meteoric ascent! We are proud to make the top 40 in the Guardian University Guide 2026 league table for the first time. UEL is now among the top six universities in London, a journey described by the Guardian as a “meteoric ascent”. Our performance is a reflection of the bold transformation delivered through our 10-year strategy, Vision 2028, which is redefining how higher education drives opportunity and renewal in challenging times.
Professor Amanda Broderick, Vice-Chancellor and President, said, “This achievement reflects the dedication of our staff and students and the strength of our mission to transform lives by delivering the best careers-focused education in the country. Our position in the Guardian league table is a recognition of academic excellence, but it is also a testament to the hard work we have done over the last five years and our commitment to innovation, inclusivity and impact, all of which have resulted in a radically transformed institution.”
Here are the highlights:
· We rose 23 places this year to place 33 out of 123 institutions, our highest position ever in the Guardian league table.
· Our score in the Guardian’s Value-Added metric is in the top three in the country.
· We ranked 2nd in London and 13th nationally for Satisfied with Assessment.
· We ranked 3rd in London and 29th nationally for Satisfied with Teaching.
