This week I was honored to speak at the Public Policy and Advocacy Summit for the Association of Christian Schools International (@ACSIUSA).
As someone who grew up in Christian schools myself, I’m a firm believer in the importance of an education rooted in timeless truth. We can’t shield our children from the world—but we can equip them to contend faithfully within it.
That’s what Christian schools aim to do. I’m so grateful for ASCI’s commitment to building and strengthening these crucial institutions.

This morning, I spoke at the Association of Christian Schools International Public Policy and Advocacy Summit…! As a Mom of four children and a strong advocate of school choice, I know the importance of empowering parents to send their kids to a school that mirrors their values. Thank you to @ACSIUSA for your continued support of Christian schools around the world and to the dedicated educators who joined us on Capitol Hill today…!

The @ACSIUSA Summit is an important opportunity for educational leaders to gain practical insight and engage in meaningful dialogue with others committed to protecting religious freedom and defending our values.
It was a privilege to take part in this year’s Summit and discuss some of the most pressing issues facing Christian schools, families, and faith-based institutions. I spoke about my bill, the @ChloeCole Act, and the devastating consequences that can result when we fail to protect vulnerable children.

🚨 For weeks, ADF has warned Congress that activists could misuse the preemption language in the Protect College Sports Act to undermine states’ women’s sports laws.
We're urging the Senate to swiftly clarify before this bill reaches a vote.

🚨 URGENT: The current version of the Protect College Sports Act could jeopardize women’s sports. Every Senator who cares about women’s equal opportunity should act immediately to clarify that this bill does not preempt state laws protecting girls’ sports.
There is a simple fix available: ensure the preemption of state laws is narrow.
We are living in a moment where lawyers can’t even define what a woman is. There’s no room for ambiguity. Let’s not undo the hard-fought gains or pass permanent legislation that could jeopardize these victories.
We are thankful for President Trump’s legacy of protecting women’s sports to date. We don’t want to see it undone.
It’s time to keep girls on the field, not sideline them again.

“Here is the data: At least 79% of the kids who received awards so far come from low- income families making $66,000 or less in income for a family of four. The remaining 21% of awardees are entirely from families in which a child has a disability. Even the
highest-income earners in this set are not wealthy. These are people earning
200%-500% of the federal poverty line. So the highest-earning awardees came from a family with a disabled child that earns no more than $165,000 a year.”

A troubling ruling for religious freedom and freedom of expression: Finland’s Supreme Court dismissed the charge over MP Päivi Räsänen’s 2019 Bible-verse social-media post, but convicted her over separate passages in a Christian pamphlet and imposed a fine. Whatever one thinks of the underlying views, the imposition of criminal liability for nonviolent religious expression sets a troubling precedent for religious freedom and freedom of expression.
ACSI Action retweeted
I am appalled that—while Päivi Räsänen was thankfully acquitted for her 2019 Bible verse tweet—the Finnish Supreme Court has convicted her of criminal “hate speech” for a church pamphlet she wrote in 2004, long before the law in question was passed.
Her Lutheran bishop, Juhana Pohjola, was also convicted for publishing the pamphlet, when all they did was share their beliefs in the public square. In its 3-2 ruling, the Court ordered the pamphlet to be “removed from public access and destroyed.”
This is a dark day for freedom in Europe and across the Western world. Punishing peaceful expression undermines the very foundation of free societies. The right to speak freely, including on matters of faith and morality, is firmly protected under international law. We will continue to stand with Dr. Räsänen and Bishop Pohjola as they consider an appeal to the European Court of Human Rights.
The Western world has aggressively adopted more and more restrictions on speech. This case makes clear beyond doubt that now is the time for the governments of Europe to repeal unjust “hate speech laws” and commit to a free speech reset.

Nice to meet with the Association of Christian Schools International along with their President, Dr. Larry Taylor.
Based in Colorado Springs, they’re a leading international organization serving 25,000 schools, including 6 in El Paso County, while promoting quality education alongside Christian values. We discussed ways to strengthen religious schools from unnecessary regulatory burdens and hurdles that hamper access to religious education. I’m excited to see their work continue in #CO05 educating our next generation.
