We’re moving 10,000 low-income children off the child care voucher waitlist — at absolutely no cost to their families. Eligible families with children ages 6 weeks to 13 years, and through age 19 for children with special needs, will be invited to apply for a voucher on a rolling basis. Once approved, finding care is as simple as visiting NYC.gov/childcare to locate licensed child care providers that accept vouchers. No New Yorker will be left behind in the fight for universal child care.

Over the coming months, ACS will be able to provide child care assistance to thousands more children, thanks to the commitment of Mayor Mamdani and Governor Hochul. A win for children and families, providers, and the City of New York!

New Yorkers, a storm is arriving today. Don't travel if you don't have to. Never drive or walk through floodwater. Call 911 if you are in danger, and report nonemergency issues to 311. Look out for one another and stay safe.

The storm’s expected path has shifted closer to our city, bringing heavier rain and stronger winds. If you’re traveling this weekend, give yourself extra time. Check your train, ferry, or flight before you leave, and avoid low-lying coastal roads around high tide. If you live in a basement apartment, know your way out and be prepared to move to a higher floor if conditions become dangerous. Look out for your neighbors. And make sure you’re getting the latest updates by texting NOTIFYNYC to 692-692.
TRAVEL ADVISORY: Hey New Yorkers, a nor’easter is on the way! 🌧️💨 If you don’t have to travel, stay home and avoid unnecessary trips. Starting around 2 p.m., strong wind gusts could bring down trees and power lines. Coastal flooding is expected to begin tonight and could be worst Saturday morning, especially in the Rockaways, around Jamaica Bay, and along Staten Island’s coast. If you live in a basement or low-lying area, know your exits and be prepared to move to higher ground if water starts rising.
