Question 1: Will this finally push Brussels and the member states to protect their industries? Comment 1: The past innovation champions tend to lose in an emerging innovation cycle no matter what governments do. They are too tied to the model that was once the winning formula. Question 2: Is there really a point to protect innovators and businesses of the past where competition is already lost, or should the resources be directed to tomorrow’s winners? Question 3: What is VW doing that will make it relevant in 10 years? Is it worth defending? Question 4: Are governments looking forward or defending the past?

Dr. King once said, "Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve." True greatness lies in lifting others, making a difference, and serving with purpose. Let’s honor his legacy by finding ways to serve and create a better world together. #MLKDay

Current food production modes/policies and pricing is based on decades of relatively predictable and within reason ( not too extreme nor frequent) harvest variability). The past decades have not prepared us for the significant impacts of persistent change in climate. – at Toronto, Ontario

Great insight… any perspective on why the CVCs invest? – at Toronto, Ontario
62% of CVCs never have had their parent company acquire any portfolio company. In fewer than one of six cases do parents acquire over 10% of their CVC portfolio companies. These data contradict the widespread belief that CVCs exist to gobble up entrepreneurs. #corporateventure #vc

Interesting insights on how social media drives structural changes in the design and operation of businesses (think chic coffee shops). There must be a business opportunity here. The tyranny of the algorithm: why every coffee shop looks the same theguardian.com/news/2024/ja…

It would be great to see if we can retune our calculations/models to get closer to what is actually happening or else it is the blind leading the blind and this is not one of those risks (climate) we can easily counter/mitigate if we keep getting it so wrong. – at Toronto, Ontario
Berkeley Earth gave a 1% (YES ONE PERCENT) chance of exceeding 1.5C in 2023. Boy, were they and others wrong.... 2023 blasted through 1.5. We are hugely underestimating the risks of accelerated warming and what is actually feasible at this point to mitigate the energy imbalance.

In 1999, the first winner of ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’ didn't use any lifelines until the final question. Instead of seeking help, he called his Dad just to tell him that he was on the verge of winning a million dollars.

Enlightening. “Many options available now in all sectors are estimated to offer substantial potential to reduce net emissions by 2030. Relative potentials and costs will vary across countries and in the longer term compared to 2030.” ❤️🌎🌲🌊
