Having my own office to personalize has been a curiously meaningful part of life as an attending. Finally got around to adding this Playmobil CT scanner to my shelf. Once I became aware that this existed, I had to have it! #radiology

Very excited to share that our latest article, titled "General Purpose and Reasoning Large Language Models for Automated Abdominal CT Protocoling," will be published in the upcoming issue of the American Journal of Roentgenology (@AJR_Radiology).
The article shines light on how large language models—such as GPT-4o and newer reasoning models like o1-mini and o3-mini—can be used to automate protocol selection, triage prioritization, and contrast media recommendations for abdominal CTs, all in a guideline-aware and low-cost manner. The findings suggest these tools could meaningfully streamline radiology workflows and reduce noninterpretive workload.
A big thank you to my collaborators from Kingston Health Sciences Centre (@KingstonHSC): Dr. Andrew Chung (@ADChungMD), Dr. Benjamin Kwan, Dr. Charles Scott, Dr. Don Soboleski, Nawab Azizi (MS3) and Enoch Yu (MS2).
