Something interesting happened at the hospital yesterday. I didn’t flinch when the nurse administered an injection, and she said, “Madam, you have a strong mind o.” I responded immediately that I’ve been through so much more in my lifetime, and now have a very high threshold for physical pain. I used to be someone who would rather swallow 10 tablets at once than take one injection. Even having blood drawn for lab work was an issue. But at some point in my life, I experienced excruciating pain. The kind where you’re the one crying and begging God daily to please take all the pain away. And after that experience, I became receptive to anything. It was like a psychological shift. I just knew that the sting of an injection was nothing compared to what I was going through. We thank God for life.
