I think Harry Kane deserved to win the award. I think Yamal would have been closest because of the World Cup win but Mbappe should have been nowhere near

I knew it was gonna be Unai Simon. I think it’s difficult to award it to a keeper who didn’t start, whilst their country won the World Cup.
I would have given it to Raya but these awards are never usually simple
Unai Simon has won the Men's Goalkeeper of the Year award for 2026.
He beat his compatriot, David Raya, to the prize thanks to his efforts with Spain at the World Cup.
But Simon made a total of nine saves in eight games, which — as a body of work — surely does not outshine Raya's season for Arsenal.
