Shabbat Shalom from MDA's newest little arrival!
When a 25-year-old mother in northern Israel went into labor, she and her husband called Magen David Adom, hoping to make it to the hospital in time. But their baby girl had other plans!
With the help of MDA senior EMT Hussani Dalasha and volunteer lead paramedic Shay Ashkenazi, a healthy baby girl was born right inside an MDA ambulance.
For Hussani, a father of two and MDA volunteer for 12 years, the moment was especially meaningful. "As a father myself, this moment touched me especially deeply," he shared.
As we welcome Shabbat, we're celebrating the dedicated MDA teams who help bring new life into the world.
Wishing everyone a peaceful Shabbat filled with love, joy and new beginnings. Shabbat Shalom!

In a new opinion piece for The Algemeiner, AFMDA CEO Catherine Reed explores why nonprofits must shift their focus from emergency fundraising to long-term resilience.
From investing in mental health resources and recognizing the dedication of staff and volunteers to strengthening donor relationships, Reed highlights the importance of preparing for future emergencies rather than simply responding to them.

96 years of saving lives. 96 new ambulances.
Magen David Adom recently inaugurated 96 new ambulances at its headquarters in Ramla, marking 96 years of lifesaving service across Israel.
These ambulances will be deployed throughout Israel to strengthen MDA's emergency response capabilities, help reduce response times and save more lives.
As MDA celebrates 96 years of service, these new ambulances represent another step forward in ensuring its EMTs and paramedics have the resources they need to respond whenever and wherever they're needed.
Thank you to our generous donors for making this milestone possible.

Magen David Adom teams responded to an explosion on Ramim Ridge in northern Israel today, reportedly caused by a Hezbollah cluster bomb left in the area. A 14-year-old boy was killed and 24 others were injured, including two 14-year-old boys in serious condition, 10 people in moderate condition and 12 with minor injuries.
MDA immediately dispatched ambulances, mobile intensive care units, Medicycle responders and helicopters to the scene. Upon arrival, MDA EMTs and paramedics, working alongside military medical teams, began triaging the injured and providing lifesaving care, including bleeding control and resuscitation efforts.
Despite extensive resuscitation efforts, MDA paramedics pronounced the 14-year-old boy dead at the scene. The 24 injured were evacuated by MDA ambulances and helicopters to three hospitals for further treatment.
Our hearts are with the family of the boy who lost his life, and we wish a full and speedy recovery to all those injured.
Before they could even catch their breath, the injured were already there.
On October 7 at the Nova Festival, Magen David Adom teams arrived to find soldiers and civilians who desperately needed help. There was no time to prepare. No time to plan. So they did what they always do. They went to work.
Driving through active gunfire in bullet-resistant ambulances, they reached the wounded and brought them to safety. Again and again, they pushed forward.
In those moments, nothing else mattered. Not fear. Not danger. Only the lives they were there to save. This is what Magen David Adom does. This is who they are.
A night dedicated to the people and purpose behind Magen David Adom’s lifesaving mission.
On October 27, AFMDA’s 2026 NYC Gala will bring together supporters for an evening celebrating the courage of MDA’s first responders and the community that stands behind them.

We look forward to celebrating the individuals whose dedication and generosity help MDA continue saving lives every day.
