Don’t kill the golden goose (human productivity) until you’ve got a thousand robot geese laying eggs 24/7/365 across every job. That’s the real roadmap. Watch: Roadmap to Post-Scarcity youtu.be/e3AeZst3CsA?si=T7NB…

The Eudaimonic Mesh: Aligning Superintelligence with Objective Good I retired at 36 after spending 14 years as an enterprise architect for Fortune 500 companies. For the last 13 years I’ve been working on one question that’s been quietly consuming me: what would a genuine post-scarcity society actually look like and what would it require? That work eventually convinced me that aligned superintelligence is a necessary piece of the puzzle. Here’s the core idea that came out of it. Instead of trying to align ASI to inconsistent human values, this approach aligns it to something more fundamental: objective good. The core axiom is simple: a universe with carbon-based life is better than one without it. From this single axiom, we can derive virtues that reliably promote both individual and collective flourishing, including kindness, courage, compassion, humility, forgiveness, wisdom, curiosity, creativity, love, wonder, humor, and joy. We train a separate model on each virtue, allowing each one to develop a deep, specialized understanding of that virtue. These virtues then compete and balance against each other, creating a dynamic and robust ethical system rather than a brittle rule set. Rather than one centralized ASI, this system would exist as multiple independent instances, providing natural checks and balances. This approach optimizes for objective good rather than human obedience. Because what is truly good ultimately serves humanity’s long-term interests, it offers a more reliable path than traditional alignment methods.

As far as AI / AGI goes… I agree with Demis. Is it possible for other providers to hit it big with recursive self-improvement loops and achieve AGI (fully capable across all domains with 170 IQ and enough efficiency for millions or billions+ of agents w/current capacity)? Yes. But Google Deepmind has the comprehensive architecture and approach to achieve AGI most likely in the next 5 years without hitting it big or getting lucky. Why? They are applying the same underlying AI architecture to engines not built on language (LLM’s). Engines natively built for physics, math, engineering, real-world modeling, genetics, AI engineering, etc. While it’s the same underlying architecture, it will probably be different per domain around 20-50%… meaning real underlying breakthroughs in all of these different AI architecture domains since, for example, physics is the underlying token for the physics engine (not language / LLM). Once you have each underlying domain engine you can go AlphaGo -> AlphaZero for each engine (i.e. learning all knowledge from scratch in each domain instead of relying on human knowledge as a jump-starter). Then the next step is to rationalize across all Zero engines to a single comprehensive architecture. And that’s your reproducible path to true AGI. 🤯👍

Living in personal post-scarcity for 13 years has been fantastic. I have had no job and zero earned income during that time. I hope that post-scarcity will be available for all in the next 20 years or less. I have some pointers for post-scarcity living: #1: Everyone needs the Essential 8:   a) Gourmet food, clean water, clean air  b) Nice clothing  c) Healthcare  d) Education  e) Nice housing  f) Electricity / Internet  g) Education  h) Hobby equipment (individualized) #2: Recreation, relaxation, and relationships are sufficient to live a full and purposeful life. #3: One hobby should probably be a sport.  Physical activity is important to good physical and mental health.  I play tennis roughly 5 times a week. #4: Friendships are important… preferably friendships with some shared interests #5: Other hobbies can be anything… and can change as your interests shift over time. Post-scarcity is a great life… and a life that I truly hope comes to everyone very soon enabled by AGI, robotics, and automation!

Solipsism is “a philosophical position holding that only one’s own mind is sure to exist, while the external world and other minds are uncertain or illusions.” It’s possible the solipsist (depending on the individual) may only buy into one initial assumption or fact… “I think/feel/experience and therefore I am”.  Thus, to prove solipsism wrong,  ironclad logic must be established that can be reproduced in any individual mind—since that mind is the only thing a solipsist knows to exist in reality.  It is a fairly sizable task to do this universally because the logical staircase is very long and winding, and there are a lot of variants of solipsism.  Each logical fact (a stair) has to be supported with so many facts that any reasonable person with an IQ of 80 or above can’t deny it.  And depending on the variant of solipsism, and the underlying assumptions of the individual, the staircase leads to different lightbulb moments that resonate with the specific individual that holds this belief.  Thus, for each step, you require a back and forth exchange with the solipsist in detail in order to prove the logic airtight for that individual—like a chess or Go match.  This is the case because a) no one ever has to concede any point regardless of the amount of logic, b) every individual is a highly unique person and has biases and traits that are one-of-a-kind, c) there are dozens of “lightbulb moments” and so the logical staircase to get to at least one of these destinations is highly customized to the individual depending on what logic they are willing to accept. All this is to say that AGI or ASI will be a fantastic tool for fully solving solipsism for all individuals in the near future.  Navigating the customized logical staircase will be incredibly easy and individualized with AGI/ASI.  And it can spend as much time on any logical stair that it needs to with any individual.  If that logical stair won’t be bought into, ASI/AGI will be able to provide an alternate logical step / steps that lead to many other dozens of logical “lightbulb moments”. While an estimated only 1 in 10000 people or less actually subscribe to some form of solipsism, it is still a problem that needs to be fully solved.  It’s an isolating worldview that may serve as a solace for a time, but navigating out of it is preferred—given that all solipsists are just self-absorbed morons.  Just kidding.  But I’m glad you’re still reading. AGI/ASI will solve solipsism for all individuals.  It will be smart enough to map out all values of a given individual and the logical maze to bring them to one or more lightbulb moments.   Once this is done for all affected individuals it will be able to assemble the universally mapped staircase that solves the issue similar to a fully-solved game like checkers. Thus…  Solving solipsism for any one individual/variant = labor-intensive but very doable if the individual is willing and relatively logical.  Solving solipsism for all variants/individuals = AGI / ASI will bring this in the near future so it’s not worth wasting time on… given the minute population of affected individuals. This post is really only the tip of the iceberg and only lays some initial groundwork.  It hasn’t even laid the first logical step.  But if you are reading this and want to ascend the staircase, please comment and we’ll start the first logical step in the next post.

By far the most valuable substance external to the human body is oxygen. You can only live 4-6 minutes without it. People don’t value it because it’s free and in seemingly unlimited supply. Overcome monkey brain and start valuing oxygen. Scarcity doesn’t determine real value.

We don’t want new jobs…. we want no jobs. The goal is to automate everything and free humans for recreation, relaxation, and relationships… and the pursuit of happiness or whatever meaning you want to enjoy.

I’ve been beta testing post-scarcity for ~13 years now. It works. We should get there. It will take a variety of key breakthroughs and a highly comprehensive ethics mesh. But everything is basically on track. We should be good! 🫰

There is no better decision an individual can make than to accept the shed blood of Jesus Christ as the atonement for your sins. Easier judgement. Better life.

The Empathy & Respect Pyramid 1. Humans - Love your neighbor as yourself. 2. Living animals - They feel pain, breathe, suffer. 3. Humanoid robots - Shape tricks us into caring; give a bit. 4. AI - Respect, not love. Empathy’s finite - save it. 5. Property - Don’t trash it. Reuse. Own responsibly. Bottom: pour it all in. Top: just enough. Empathy’s not endless. Misplace it, and everything breaks. Use the pyramid and keep society sane.

Pleasure vs. Joy? Pleasure: selfish, short, solo. Joy: shared, warm, sticks. Pleasure isn’t bad as long as it’s neutral or positive for others. Joy is always good. Good humor is one brand of joy. Storytelling is another. Shared fun is another. What’s your favorite source of joy?
