Leaders from across Canada’s airport ecosystem recently convened for the 2026 ACI-NA Marketing, Communications, and Customer Experience (MarComCX) Conference.
Making the case for proactive airport marketing, communications, and customer experience has never been more important. This year’s conference offered an invaluable opportunity to explore emerging challenges and solutions, positioning airport professionals ahead of the curve while bridging airside and landside perspectives.
Canadian leaders were front and center across key sessions, panels, and working groups:
Krista Kealey from @FlyYOW on leadership under pressure in Navigating the Human Side of Leadership.
Nisha Borshettar from @TorontoPearson on sharing insights in Metrics That Move the Needle to Demystify Internal Communications.
Erin Isfeld from @FlyYEG on Connecting the Dots to Make Your Airport Irresistible to Media.
Tiffany Chase from @HfxStanfield on roadmap execution in Designing the Unwritten Future in a Shifting Landscape.
Deborah Wilson from @BBishopAirport on unpacking engagement in More Than Just a Costume, it's MAGIC.
Guy Nicholson from @TorontoPearson on Everything You Know About Podcasting is Wrong.
Jessica Lipton from @FlyYMM on exploring community impact in The Art of Community Whispering.
A highlight of the week was Canada’s Airports Communications Committee coming together for an energetic in-person meeting, led by our new Committee Chair, Jessica Lipton.
To top off an incredible week, congratulations to our Canadian MARCOM Award winners recognized at the Gala Dinner:
🏆 Victoria International Airport – Annual Reports
🏆 Halifax Stanfield International Airport – Customer Experience Programs (Medium Airport)
🏆 Edmonton International Airport – Public Relations Programs (Medium Airport)
🏆 J.A. Douglas McCurdy Sydney Airport – Public Relations Programs (Small Airport)

Last minutes of a summer long weekend and thinking back to the press trip I took to The Karoo at @CabotCitrus. Citrus Farms was recently named Golf Inc’s development of the year for 2025 — it’s an absolute can’t-miss golf stop in Florida:

The world is going to hear a lot more about Club de Golf Grand-Mere. I met and played yesterday with owner Richard Rousseau and member Jim Buki, who filled my ear with a lifetime of lore about the Travis-Alison gem they are revitalizing in a quiet corner of Quebec.
Loved writing this piece and working on this series.

Flights at Toronto Pearson continue to operate normally at this time.
Please use the roadway to Terminal 1 Arrivals as the roadway to the Terminal 1 Departures remains closed for a Peel Police investigation. The parking garage in Terminal 1 remains open. Police say this is an isolated incident and there are no known threats to public safety.
Passengers can also park at Terminal 3 and the Viscount Station Kiss and Fly lot and take the train to Terminal 1.

"Demand is still growing. Global air traffic has resumed its pre-pandemic growth curve, and Canada’s top airports are seeing similar trends. But the growth isn’t even—the rebounds are smaller and more tenuous at small airports, bigger and more sustained at the large hubs. At Montreal-Trudeau, for example, passenger volume is up 12 percent over 2019, whereas many smaller regional airports have only recovered to 60 or 70 percent."

Growing up, @GolfClubAtlas was instrumental in my evolution and interest in golf architecture. I long admired what Ran & John Morrissett, and later Ben Cowan-Dewar and Joe Androile, built for the years of interesting content and hundreds of interesting discussions in the forum.
So, naturally, I'm excited to announce that as of today, Beyond The Contour has officially merged into Golf Club Atlas. What does that mean? Well, using GCA's foundation and what Beyond The Contour is capable of, we're going to do what GCA has done well for a quarter-century, while improving other content streams for the next 25 years.
You'll notice a new homepage, reorganization of articles, and some small formatting changes already, with more to come. Don't worry, though: it'll still be GCA, and Ran Morrissett is still heavily involved, but I'm excited to get going!

Great piece here from my former colleague @KamalAlSolaylee. We travel to retrace our steps and commune with our personal bygones: “Every plane is a flying time machine, dials set firmly to the past.”
In the new instalment of the Y WE TRAVEL series from @TorontoPearson and @canadasairports, @KamalAlSolaylee explores how travel shifts from discovery to reconnection, as he retraces the steps and memories that have shaped his life. #whywetravel thewalrus.ca/gtaa-part3/
