Alongside @American_Heart, we have filed an amicus brief supporting the Dementia Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (DPRIT), an initiative approved by nearly 70% of voters to advance research on Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.
Despite the clear message sent by the people of Texas, litigation has delayed DPRIT's implementation, but we will continue fighting to see it succeed.

Proud moment highlighting brain health research. 🧠
The article reporting the results of the Association’s landmark U.S. POINTER lifestyle intervention trial is included in @JAMA_current’s Research of the Year Roundup.
This underscores the significance of U.S. POINTER in shaping the future of brain health.
This achievement would not be possible without the dedication of the research teams, study participants and donors. Together, we are building a future where better brain health is within reach for all communities.

Our president & CEO @joannepikedrph urges her fellow Texans to #VoteYesOnAlz14 🗳️ to fund the Dementia Prevention Research Institute of Texas (DPRIT) — creating the largest state-funded Alzheimer’s research program in the country.

The FDA has cleared the first blood test for Alzheimer’s for use in primary care settings specifically to rule out the presence of amyloid, a hallmark of the disease.
“This is another important step toward expanding access to Alzheimer’s disease diagnostic tools,” said our president and chief executive officer @joannepikedrph.
The blood test is intended to help primary care physicians determine which patients do not require Alzheimer’s-related follow-up tests, such as PET scans or cerebrospinal fluid analysis. This can significantly improve the diagnostic process by preventing unnecessary specialized testing for individuals whose cognitive issues stem from non-Alzheimer’s causes.
The Association is committed to ensuring blood tests are used appropriately and effectively across all care settings.

Texas is fighting to #ENDALZ at the ballot box 🗳️, and the Association is leading the charge to drive change. Earlier this year, the state legislature established the Dementia Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (DPRIT). Now it’s up to the voters to decide whether or not to fund it.
That’s where Proposition 14 comes in. If voters approve Proposition 14 on the November 4 ballot, Texas will invest $3 billion over 10 years for dementia research, creating the largest state-funded dementia research program in the country — becoming a model for other states.
We’re incredibly proud to support Proposition 14 and the hope that it will bring to the 460,000 Texans living with Alzheimer’s and their 1 million unpaid caregivers and to all Americans living with dementia. This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to impact the course of the disease and accelerate research opportunities. Learn more about #VoteYesOnAlz14: bit.ly/4otjBbu.
