Temwa Chawinga is the first African woman to make the top 10 of the Women’s Ballon D’or. No African woman has finished higher than 12th before. Zambia’s Barbra Banda set the previous high-water mark with 12th place in 2024 and 14th in 2025. Temwa herself finished 17th in her first nomination last year. Her older sister Tabitha (now at Lyon) finished 16th in 2024. Baller 😮‍💨
